Great replacement, “drilled a hole to secure”

I have had this type of lock for several years on all of my windows in addition to the original windows locks. I needed to replace the ones in the bathroom since the screw on the old ones rusted. I shouldn’t have a problem with these since they are aluminum. I’d like to mention, to make these locks secure and not slide around when the window is pushed to open or close and move them, I drilled a hole in the metal frame of the window a little bigger than the screw threads, and put the screw through the hole when I connected the lock to the window frame. The window will not open unless I take the locks off.

Great, affordable window locks

Great, affordable window locks. They can put out quite a bit of force, but if someone really wanted tried to open your window hard several times, they can definitely move the lock bit-by-bit (although that would be extremely conspicuous).

Just didn’t quite work

Might just have been me, but we couldn’t get them to work. Marked up the window plenty, but couldn’t get them tight enough to stop the opening

Make me feel safe as I have window fans in my windows

They work great on all my windows I have them installed because I put window fans for this summer heat in my two bedroom windows and one of my living room windows. They are very strong and I feel safer having my windows locked with the fans in the windows

These provide some piece of mind for sliding windows. They won’t keep someone out who really wants in, but that can also be said for any window locked or otherwise.

Happy I Found These

I couldn’t find these handy window locks at Home Depot. I’m glad I could find them online for a reasonable price. I’m using these to prevent my two year old from opening our windows too far. If he played around with it I’m sure he could get these off, but at least it will temporarily deter him!
