Quality Set Of Bits, Just A Note To The Extremely Fine Tipped Ones…

I purchased this set of bits to fit my Dremel 8220 to cut ornamental shapes out of wood as well as do some edging on the dog house we’re building. I’m really happy with this set. I looked around, and these were definitely the best deal for the quality and materials used to make these bits. They come in a container with an individual space for each bit that feels sturdy and has helped keep them organized and sharp. Honestly, I haven’t had any problems with these bits. That being said, I’ve taken the typical precautions of not sinking the thin tipped bits too far into the board which, could break if they are driven in too far and moved to either side-but that’s just the nature of bits in general (in my own experience at least!). I’m not even sure if that would be the case with the tungsten steel carbide, but because some of these bits are so fine at the ends it would still be prudent to maintain the tip. The tungsten steel carbide bits will last you a lot longer than whatever it is they sell at Harbor Freight or the typical steel bits you’ll find in similar stores so keep in mind that the extra cost you might be paying for these will more than pay off after a while. Overall, I would highly recommend these bits and will certainly be repurchasing this brand if I need different styles in the future.PROS: Strong, Durable Materials, Sturdy Storage Case, Good Selection of Shapes and Cut Types, Good Price For The QualityCONS: Do cost more than traditional steel bits, Precautions should be taken to prevent fine tipped bits from breaking/wearing out*** Did you find this review helpful? For the beginning woodworking individuals, these may not be a good starting point for you.

These get so HOT really really fast when working with wood. I might see use for these for precision work, but not for prolonged use or for trying to shaving of a lot of wood.I will definitely have to come back and re rate these for sure because maybe it’s a case of “user error” and not the actual product itself. They do work, but when they get hot they WILL burn the wood, but then again, maybe that is a plus if you want a part of your carving to have burn patterns. That depends on the project I suppose. I can’t say I regret buying these or would get rid of them. They are useful, but I have to find out how to use them properly.Any suggestions from others, whether wood working or not, would be more then welcome as to how you would utilize these and again, I will re rate this product at a later time so I may give a more accurate assessment as to how I feel about this particular product.Thank you so much for reading!

Nice for fine detail work

Nice carbide bits for fine detail wood carving. They fit my older Dremel tool collet perfectly without slipping or jamming. They seem, so far, to be well balanced. I haven’t tried every single one yet. These are not for aggressive work or removing large amounts of wood. They are small points of various shapes with accordingly fine teeth. 20 carbide cutters for under 20 bucks is a really good deal in my opinion. Nice little plastic case too.

Ok for the money….

But be aware you get what you pay for. The cutting edges are not as sharp or acute (the angle of the teeth themselves) as my high quality burrs. Also shafts are not hardened, so high rpm with to much pressure and you will most certainly bend the shaft. But that said these burrs aren’t several hundred dollars a set either. So probably depends on application, these will work for most general cutting where carbide is required.

Five Stars

Excellent bit set. Cant beat the price. Ive used these on multiple wood projects and havent dulled yet.

Four Stars

The 3 mm Shank Tungsten Steel Solid Carbide Rotary File set has yet to fail to impress. I received them just after I had purchased a Dremel Tool and had planned on creating something. After removing them from the packaging and putting them to use, I can honestly say that they are quite sturdy. Great construction and really do the job well. The few things that I have used them on all have very smooth edges and this tool allows me to create almost anything that I can imagine because this set literally has most every piece that I could possibly need. Materials that I have used this on are mainly wood, but I have also used it on rough ceramic and dried clay (pottery).I can not suggest using it for harder materials such as metal of course because the bits are not specialized (or hardened) for such a thing, but most anything else that someone might think of is pretty much fare game!I have used the bits for anything from a simple engraving to carving and even finishing work. They remove all the material that you are going for and leave a nice smooth edge.

Some people have said that they aren’t great for detail work

I use these ALL the time! If you’re looking for something to really dig into some wood, please buy these. Some people have said that they aren’t great for detail work, but I think if you have a light hand, you can achieve what you’re looking to do. Great variety of sizes and they have withstood MAJOR use without bending or dulling.

A must have for me

Man, I love these. They are very aggressive - especially the double cut bits - so be sure to use a light touch. The carbide means I don’t have to worry about the bits heating up and losing temper. I have used them a lot to hog wood out of tight, awkward spaces, and they have saved me a lot of time.

good value

I have not used these yet, but upon close inspection, they appear sharp and well made. I will use them with a rotary tool (Dremel-type) for hobby work, carving walking sticks and…
