When I first plugged the desktop in it wouldn’t do anything: no display or power lights. I called Amazon technical support & they were very helpful but unable to find the solution & told me to return it.I was removing the cords when I noticed the power supply was set to 220v instead of 110v. I set it to 110v, plugged the cords back in, and it powered up. So far I am very pleased with the performance.
After 3 months of owning this computer the hard drive went bad. I sent it in and they fixed it no hassle, except the three weeks without a computer. The WiFi is horrible. My laptop that is sit next to where my desktop was while getting fixed had not issues with connectivity. This desktop in the same spot has crap internet signal. I may have to get a booster just to get internet. I would recommend another desktop. I am upset with this Acer product, I have had success with some of their other products.
The 6th gen model is great for the price. BUT the windows serial was already used right out of the box. Had to call Microsoft for a free serial number. This is a comment made by many others here. That just shouldnt happen. The lack of an SSD drive is the only negative since the speed of the computer is reduced with the standard hardrive. All in all worth the bucks paid for it
I bought this PC as a backup for my main gaming computer. I had an extra 1 GB hard drive with lots of photos I wanted to add to this PC. The PC has a restricted BIOS that would not recognize my common Seagate drive. After more online reviews I learned that there is very limited success bu others upgrading this PC. This PC is not equipped with a gaming machine capable motherboard and cannot be upgraded to be one. So go elsewhere for gaming or for a PC with upgrade potential. It is a quality machine at a good price. I added an addition 8 MB of ram and it is very fast in general office applications. As a basic, quick PC at a good price, it is a good buy.
now iv been reviewing this computer from @techdeals on youtube…. saw it and loved it….and im switching from a old gateway m series i had since 2008….and the experience is revolutationary… paired with my hp pavilion 21.5inch panel…. this thing is fast… keyboard and mouse feels slightly cheapish which is my only con…amazing value for the money…shipped on time too
Really, really disappointed. I read the reviews and counted on any previous issues being addressed by the manufacturer. Followed instructions to remove McAfee and Norton, but neither was pre-installed. Started up once with Windows 10 (after three tries). Seemed okay long enough to install Microsoft Home and Office. Shut down on it’s own and would not reboot with Windows. Called the tech center three times. Attempts to reset to factory settings did not help.
I hate to leave a negative review, but I realize that I would be failing in my duty to others if I did note share my experience. Within a couple minutes of installing this computer, it showed an error message and shut down. Then this happened every five or ten minutes, the screen would go blue and en error message would appear. Never, I repeat, NEVER, ever have I come across such a terrible computer, and I have owned literally dozens of PC’s, Mac’s, laptops and tablets. Please beware, is all I would say to anyone who is considering buying this machine.
This has got to be a hit or miss thing. I read the reviews and was waiting to have to spend 90 minutes getting it setup. However, to my surprise, it worked perfectly out of the box.
Works great, performs great and no issues after several months
My primary business program is an application written in Corel’s Paradox and I have been using this through over ten machines in the past 15 years.
Right out of the box the PC was constantly blue screening and rebooting. Shipped it back the same day.
Installs easily–no problems
Great low cost computer.
very happy
Good choice for a home PC. Easy to setup. Very competitive price. No issues after several months and I use it almost daily (though not a heavy user).
running like a champ so far.
Great buy for the price and easy upgrade for a 1050 graphics card
