Product Reviews

This projector is an awesome buy for $2,000!

I have been waiting for the 4K projectors to come down in price for the past 2.5 years since I purchased my 70 inch and 55 inch 4K TV’s.I purchased an Acer 3D 1080P projector model H6510BD back in 2013 and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I do have a dedicated theater room that can be totally darkened to totally enjoy movies.I almost purchased the Optoma UHD 60 but held off due to its size. The Acer H7850 appeared on Amazon on August 30th and it was the day that this product was launched in the US. I jumped on it mainly due to its due to its size and experience with Acer projectors and ordered it.I am totally blown away with both the build and picture quality and highly recommend it to anyone who is considering upgrading their theater projector to 4K. Please note that I had to replace the 50ft cable and my receiver to handle the HDCP standard. My projector only displayed 1080p until I upgraded the cable and the receiver. Please note that this projector can perform well in moderate lighting too if you do not have a dedicated theater but it will impact the darker scenes that is usually a problem for most projectors anyway. This projector is awesome and my family is totally impressed with the clarity and could not believe the 4k video that we streamed from both YouTube and DirecTV. We watched a football game on DirecTV and it was unbelievably clear and we thought that we were in the stadium! If you have $2,000 to spend then I highly suggest that you buy this projector and believe me when I say that you will NOT be disappointed!

the acer throws a much better picture. The acer is brighter

I purchased this item as a secondary projector to game on. This projector has outstanding video quality. It is essentially supposed to be the same projector as the Optoma uhd60, but with frame interpolation. I have both in my home theater. In my opinion, the acer throws a much better picture. The acer is brighter, sharper.and has better colors. I may even try the acer v7850 to take the place of my epson 5040.

Caution buying this.

I did not purchase this projector, however everyone should do significant research as I don’t believe this projector is up to par of the competition. This projector is only HDR (compatible) meaning that it can accept the image from it but doesn’t actually use HDR for a higher quality image. Also I suspect the DLP color wheel is slow spinning (2x) meaning it is prone to rainbow effect for certain individuals.EDIT: No my review isn’t fake, I am a real person who has been looking forward to affordable 4k projectors for years.LCD might be a better investment since the only benefit DLP single chip projects had over LCD 3 chip projectors was that there was no screen door effect (black lines between each pixel). I’m personally hoping that another DLP projector with a (6x) wheel spin comes out for a similar price of these. I personally would see an 3LCD as a better investment until new DLP 4k projectors are available.
