Great for the price, these are large and seat fairly well with my old wood framed windows. Landlord is “frugal” and won’t insert actual screens into my existing windows. This gave me an inexpensive option to allow for fresh air. The frame isn’t very sturdy but it holds up in the window. Beware of Amazon and their poor packaging, I had one arrive bent. These would be better packaged if they were sandwiched between some sturdy cardboard.
Not bad for 6 bucks fits perfectly in my window. Love that the screen is dark.
My issue at home is with flies – those big, black house flies. I got 2 of these adjustable screens for the bedrooms and they are working just fine. The screens are flimsy and poor quality, but I paid $6 so I didn’t expect much. And again, they do their job and the windows face the side garden so nobody really sees them. There is a gap at the top, between the window sill and the screen, because the plastic clip that keeps the two screens together sticks out. If you are trying to keep out mosquitoes or smaller bugs, this screen is not for you.
These screens are awesome!! I have two functioning windows in my attic that did not have screens on them but I wanted to get some air flow up there so I purchased these. I was a little worried at first because they were really cheap and an add on item. I have no children that can fall out of the window so no concern there (if you do I would suggest not to purchase these) but they fit perfect and are really secure and sturdy, I have cats and am not concerned at all that they will get the screen off. Awesome buy, love them!!
These are great and at a much better price than I could find locally. I did not find them flimsy and they keep my big cat safely inside (and he often lays down against it). It does have a very small space at the top when installed where I suppose tiny bugs could get in. I am in the Pacific NW and I haven’t had any issues. However if I did, I think putting a strip of sticky-backed foam insulation on the bottom of the window would fill that space and eliminate the problem.
You pay what you get for with these. While they are cheap in price and are certainly made of screen, the frame is flimsy and torques when handling. Don’t get me wrong, they sit in a window and keep bugs out so it does the job just as well as any other, that said, if you’re looking for a bit more heft would suggest the Frost King brand which are a little brighter, in terms of seeing through the screen, and less flimsy of a frame.
I read some of the less favorable comments about people not being pleased with these screens. However, I have to say, they work perfectly for our situation. We are using them in our garage windows (the garage is 60 years old, windows with no screens) where we wanted added ventilation. They fit the windows without any issue. It’s a nice snug fit, both horizontally and vertically. No gaps, no screen warping ~ nothing. We ordered this smaller sized screen for the smallest window and have just now placed an order for two of the medium sized screens!Yes, there are more rugged, more expensive screens out there ~ but for us, these suit the purpose!
Good value for the price. I have cats and put these in the windows to protect the screens that are already there from their claw marks and also as an added layer of protection to keep the cats from getting out. They work great for that. I reduced one star because they’re pretty light weight and I really have to push the window down to keep them locked into place. I think the wood ones are probably a lot more durable and heavy duty but you get what you pay for! For the price these are fantastic!
Work very well, slotted into window sill perfectly..no bugs so far
great quality slides easy as expected
great large size, lets in lots of air. Great price too!
These screens are a little bit flimsy but for the price they are still worth it
it was okay
These are good and priced reasonably. Workmanship on a couple was less than ideal, and took two of us to figure out how to slid them open because manufacturing standards were a…
good quality, just what I needed as a quick fix for replacing my screen
Doesn’t fit as advertised. Make sure the window you are using it for doesn’t have a lip.
Cheap, looks good, works. Love.No brainer.
