Style:Sound Bar with Subwoofer From the Manufacturer AmazonBasics
OK. I was a little nervous about having ordered it because I was looking at the negative reviews actually AFTER it was on it’s way. I don’t know what people we’re expecting from this thing…..cinema quality, bass thumping, chest pounding sound? It is NOT designed for this type of performance. You will be pleased about the soundbar if your expectations are reasonable. I bought this for my 40” Samsung in our master bedroom. The speakers IN the TV are so small and very treblesome with no bass. When you turn up the bass on the tv settings it would rattle the TV’s housing and sound horrible. I connected it with the toslink fiber optic cable and everything fired up great. The sound you get in the mids and highs is very crisp, but not so much so that it hurts your ears. Great for understanding spoken word on shows and movies. That being said, the DSP setting sounds best and most balanced on MOVIE. The bass is by no means booming, but it’s present and again, very balanced with the mids and highs. It produces full range and actually gets very loud without distorting.Bottom Line: The sound is CRISP and BALANCED, and most importantly…..MUCH BETTER THAN MY TV’s SPEAKERS. Multiple inputs and bluetooth connectivity are a bonus. The only thing that I didn’t like was that the sticker on the top by the buttons left a sticky residue when I removed it, so I’ll have to clean it off.
A friend recommended this sounds bar to me. I am particular about sound and usually buy speakers from Sony and Bose. This is the first time I purchased a speaker from Amazon Basics. This sound bar’s sound is definitely beyond my expectation. I enjoy using this sound bar to watch TV.I read from the reviews that there is complaint about the volume. My living room is about 300 square feet, and my TV is about 10 to 13 feet away from the sofa. I have no problem with the sound bar’s volume. I would not turn it up to the highest volume when watching TV or videos as it would be too loud. I took a short clip and attached it here so that future buyers can have a better idea. I turned the sound bar to its maximum volume when recording the clip. The best you can find from similarly priced products in the market
Needed direct sound from Samsung TV versus “off the wall sound”. 2.1 Sound bar has three modes - Standard, News and Movie. Movie too much bass, News great for news talkers. I use standard most of the time.Like the appearance and the price. Using the digital optical port from TV to soundbar.Have not tried bluetooth feature.
This literally took 10 minutes to remove from the box and set up! I’m already so impressed with the quality of sound and the way it fills the room. No more cranking the volume up to 70’s and 80’s trying to hear low conversations in movies then frantically turning it down when action scenes come on! Easily syncs with iPhone via Bluetooth for pretty decent sounding music, too. I’m only sorry I didn’t buy this sooner.
I am not one to write reviews or buy much electronics. I tend to buy what I need and not worry too much about anything else. However, I got this speaker and I think I am forever grateful for it. Rather than just hearing my TV, and I am now hearing it with significant greater clarity and excitement. I never realized how important a decent speaker is to the general enjoyment of TV and games. I would recommend this speaker to anyone that values elegance and high quality sound, without wanting in invest in a serious sound system. This soundbar was a perfect addition to my entertainment area.
Fit in a tight spot (no room for receiver and speakers system) and brings a good clear sounds with decent bass. It ended up being a great investment for my tv+PS3 to watch movies, play music or play video games… I have to admit for the price it went beyond my expectations. I would recommend it without hesitations.
every bit as good (if not better) than the higher priced brands. Only downside is no universal remote but I like it so much i can look past that.
I think some of the reviews on here are ridiculous. This is a great sound bar! For the price, compared to competitors, you can’t beat it. Now if you are expecting the most premium of premium sounds… go piss your money away on something crazy expensive. But this is a great speaker and I love it! Great upgrade from the crappy sound of the cheap flat screen I bought on Black Friday!. Good work amazon!
It provides decent sound, not much better than my TV, though. You will get a better sound from one that has a separate subwoofer.
I have no problems with the sound quality, but I’m also not picky. The 2 minor problems I have are that there’s IR interference with the Apple TV remote, so the volume changes…
The sound of this sound bar does not enhance the tv sound in anyway. This product was one I was hoping to exceed my expectations since Amazon is so great but it failed them…
Sound quality is pretty good for the aux and Bluetooth. The optical doesn’t work which is disappointing, I was looking forward to digital audio for my new TV.
Severe interference with Verizon FIOS CTB IR remote control. Several buttons on CTB remote cause sound bar to mute, turn off, and volume up/down.
This this is certainly basic but fills the need. I picked this up for a home office attached to an older 1080p 42” TV.
If I were to buy another soundbar I would buy a name brand for no other reason other than I would be able to control it with my Directv Genie RC73 remote.
This is a trerrible product with poor sound quality. Buttons on remote do not work.
I like the product, it’s a very good upgrade for the sound of my Samsung 40 Smartv.Pros:The size and design, beautiful under my TVGood sound for TV and…
