- Neck was warped and the truss rod was so out of alignment that I could not get the allen wrench inside.2. Cavities in the body were over cut such that the bridge plate and switch plate would not cover them. (One switch screw went only to open space.)3. The three-way switch was defective. (I had to order a new Fender 3-Position Pickup Selector Switch from Amazon, adding $9.79 to the total price.)4. String Ferrules were missing. (another $8.99)In summary, workmanship and quality control were absent.Looks and sounds OK, but the neck needed to be un-bent (see photo) to make it playable.I am an experienced luthier skilled in instrument repair, woodworking and electronics. The three elements of a guitar kit are the body, the neck and the elecrtonics. This product was defective in all areas.
I liked this finished guitar and enjoyed making it. But make no mistake, this isn’t for the first time guitar owner. There are holes to drill, wires to solder and a bridge to measure on one’s own to install. But having a little experience, I had no real problems.
