Good for a starter 360 camera

I just wanted to try out 360 spheres. I preferred to buy a single lens over a dual lens to avoid stitching and seams in the pictures.This camera is definitely a good starter for those who want to simply try out photo-spheres. Having said that, if you do not know technical stuff about how to handle jpegs and what are equi-rectangular pics, you will have a hard time sharing pictures using this. I have attached a sample picture taken with this camera for people to try out before buying this camera. Vertically, it captures 220 degrees and horizontally, it captures 360 degrees. So, your photo spheres will always have a blank area. You can even click upside down or 90 degree horizontal pictures.Pros:* Comes with a handy case to carry around* Photos do not need stitching* There is an inbuilt delay (I use 3 seconds) to click pictures* Supports videoCons:* Indoor pics are very grainy. The camera simply does not perform well in medium lighting conditions* Low resolution. Although the camera specs say its a 16 megapixel resolution, it looks like a 8 Mega pixel picture is up scaled to 16. Details aren’t visible* I see some weird noise patterns/artifacts in the picture. One that regular cameras do not have. Check attached picture* Photos cannot be easily shared without actually editing it to make it shareable.* The XDV360 software suggested does not help sharing the pictures at all. Worst, it crops a portion of the picture.Technical stuff:Photo resolution: 4096px x 4096pxVideo resolution: 2448px x 2448pxSteps to convert pics1. Apply Filter -> Distort -> Polar Coordinates -> [x] Polar to Rectangle2. Copy picture3. Create a new image (6000px x 3000px), add a new horizontal guide at position 61.11%4. Paste the copied picture above your guide and resize it to fit the the full section over the guide5. Save this picture.6. You still have to inject meta data for Facebook to understand that this is a 360 picture. Plenty of online tools available for that.My suggestion: If you are able to convert my attached picture into a social media shareable photoshere picture, this camera is for you :)

Good value. If you want full 360 effect (without that dark abyss), you can get two of these and stick them on the back of each other. It works with the Kodak stitching software.
