I don’t know where to begin with this review, but I am totally blown away. This is an amazing instrument! I have two custom shop Telecasters, a custom shop Strat, custom Les Paul, etc. and this is now my favorite! I decided to get a lap steel so I originally bought the Gretsch G5700 to learn. I started playing it and I was having fun, but it just wasn’t that quality of an instrument. I saw the Asher Hawaiian Junior so I decided to return the Gretsch and try it out. The tone is absolutely amazing! The pick ups and set are perfect right out of the box. I can play slide okay on guitar, but once I started playing this I haven’t been able to put it down! The best part of my purchase, though, is I called up Asher Guitars to ask some questions, Jessica answered and she was extremely helpful. Answered all my questions and then some. Seriously … If you want to learn how to play lap steel, or your an accomplished musician, this is the instrument to get. It is supposed to be an entry level guitar, but the quality and build is amazing! This is the first review I’ve ever made on anything I’ve bought online, so I am definitely happy with my purchase. You will be too! Well … have to go play some more! Thank you Jessica and Bill Asher for the fine quality you put in your product. As soon as I get better I will upgrade to the Ben Harper model … ;)
comments powered by DisqusI am writing this on behalf of my dad who loves this guitar. At first, we thought $690 was too expensive, but the tone/sound from this guitar is so nice and loud and rich and melodious all at the same time and quite unlike anything I have heard and well worth the price. My dad’s playing sounds better on this than any of his other guitars. Perhaps it feels like a custom-built instrument and just fits his style. The wood, the polish/finish, the metal etc. even after more than a year of jamming, are just like new. It is also light enough to lug around and comes with a handy gig bag. One more thing: My dad always has a huge smile when he plays this guitar. Thanks Bill, for a great product.
