AudioQuest LP record clean brush
Hold it tight while using it. If you drop it on the record there are sharp corners that may ruin your most precious lps.
It cleans the dust off my records, but not completely. I assume there’s a reason why the bristles are so short. It’s just that there’s a temptation with any brush to angle it to the surface you’re brushing (or maybe that’s just me) and that could bring the handle in contact with your record. Careful now. The handle rotates around the unit and can be used to clear the bristles - that action would be better facilitated by having a handle on the handle, otherwise it’s hard not to touch the bristles with your greasy fingers. I can’t speak for the brush’s anti-static ability, I’m not sure I would know the difference unless it was pointed out to me.In all, it’s a little expensive for a brush but, you know, Vinyl’s virtually a religion so who knows.
This product has a major flaw- the corners of the compartment that houses the bristles are jagged. I was trying to clean some dust off of a record, but beause the bristles collapse with even the slightest downward pressure, the jagged corner of the bristle compartment scratched my record. I had barely pressed the bristles down at all. Now my vinyl has a large scratch going across. Not happy.
Use with caution. Poorly constructed and fragile bristles will wreak havoc on your records. After a week of use, I noticed a bristle or two on a record, which would have surely caused permanent damage if left unseen. Even when ensuring proper pressure (or lack thereof), bristles have still fallen onto my records. I’d pass on this product and am confused as to why the reviews remain so strong for it.
This brush is mediocre, my anti-static cloth does a much better job. As a note, this does shed and it doesnt especially do a great job cleaning. Im looking for another better option.
You can easily push too hard and because the bristles are very short and the body very sharp, damage a record.
Awesome little brush. Easy to use and does a great job removing dust, lint, and pet hair (2 dogs, 3 cats; it’s inevitable). Would definitely recommend.
I’m pretty particular about having clean records, and when I use this brush I find it very inadequate. As others have reported, it will scratch the surface of your record! This may not be an audible type scratch, but I’m not sure about that. The way to view it scratching is to slide it onto a portion of the record near the center where there are no groves……. Under normal use I’ve watched with a flash light to see if I’m picking up anything……. and unless it is laying on the surface of the record it’s not coming off. On another turntable I use an old ESL dust arm that is far more successful in aiding in keeping the surface as clean as possible while playing. Unfortunately that dust arm is no where to be found these days…… but there is a new type that is similar available on the internet that I will try out soon.
Works for reducing static, not so much for cleaning records.
Love the quality and performance of this brush.
Cleans
Great to have with a LP Vinyl collection.
It worked famously, it was refreshing to buy something and have it work no question
Works exactly as advertised.
Good brush for cleaning records. Also helps in removing static.
Do your vinyl records a favor, and use this before you play them, each time. This is the second one I’ve purchased. The first one was 20 years ago. Love this product.
I use this before playing any side of a record. It gets the loose dust and is easy to use. However, this is not a replacement for cleaning records.
