Cool design, poor usability, GREAT customer service (UPDATED)

I wanted to like this, as pretty much everything that I’ve ever gotten or seen from AUKEY has been excellent. I’ll throw a couple of stars in their direction because it kind of worked, or in other words it didn’t fling my phone to the floor of my vehicle.Here’s the problem though: even trying the mount on both my adjustable vents and my non-adjustable, anytime I wanted to remove my phone from the mount it would pull the mount out of the vent still stuck to my phone. Which kind of defeats the purpose of the mount if you’re not able to remove the mount from the phone without both hands. II had hoped it would have worked, but unfortunately…not so much.UPDATE—-AUKEY is probably one of the best at customer service. Shortly after I reviewed this product they contacted me with suggestions to see if I couldn’t get this product to work for me. I tried their suggestions and sadly they didn’t work for me, but I feel that the mounts may work for some others with smaller phones. (S6 Edge). I think the product is worth a try, I would recommend it if you can get it to work with your phone.

5/15/17: it’s OK. my phone falls off when i hit big bumps.5/16/17: after the company reached out to me I tried a different method - I removed my “gel body glove’ off my phone {samsung s5} and used the larger metal plate on back of the phone itself. the adhesive on the metal plates will not harm your phone. now, when I hit road bumps the phone stays in place. when i’m out of the vehicle, i put my body glove back on for protection and stylish looks. thanks for reaching out to me, it shows how much you care about your customers and your product. this is a good buy and works best when the metal is in contact with the magnet. A great hands free option and great customer service.

As long as your case isn’t too think or you can stand the feel of the plates, the AUKEY magnetic phone holders work great.

I have an Incipio case on my Moto Z and between the heft of the phone and the thickness of the case, it just doesn’t work. Now my iPhone 6 in a cheap-chinese case mostly works. If I take a bumpy road with my truck, the iPhone shakes itself onto the floorboard. The cellphone attachment plates are adhesive coated and you can stick them to the back of your phone case for maximum holding power, but the edges of the steel plates are unfinished and personally I hate the feel when using the cellphone and having the plate irritate my palm. So I insert the plates just inside my cell phone case, leading to the reduced holding power.

Do a really research regarding your air vents before buying

These one have the weakest magnets. One thing to consider before buying them, is to take a closer look at the locations of your air vents, the way they turn, and close. Because of all that makes the difference if they’re worth it. My G35 2003 vents are very difficult to use with these type of phone holders. Because they’re go up and down to adjust the air flow coming out of them, so they’re no meant for these magnet holders. But my biggest issue is the power of the magnet. It can barely hold an iPhone 6s Plus.

A Good Idea

Well I love the product. Easy to mount onto the vent, can shift it a bit to get an angle where I can see maps on my iPhone.The only downsides are that sometimes it comes out of the vent too easily so I have to reinsert, or push it back in before it’s all the way out.Also the size of the phone is a consideration if you want this as it will block air flow from that vent.

Easy to use

Easy to use, but magnet isn’t powerful enough to hold y iPhone 7 plus through its case. The magnetic holds it, but as I hit bumps on the road or railroad crossings, the phone slides down from magnet nearly falling. Works great for my iPhone 6, but not as good for he heavier and larger 7 plus

Great Magnetic Device Holder

Awesome solution to bumpy rides! Use these mounts in cars and trucks and they are strong enough to hold iPads as well as just the phones, and appear to be sturdy enough to last a long time. Everyone in the family wants one after using it in my vehicles.

Magnet strength was too weak to hold iPhone 5s or 6 firmly in place either in thin bumper-style case or, worse yet, in otter box defender style case.

The best solution is often the most simple

These mounts are fantastic. My car is about 15yrs old so I was a little concerned they might break a vent fin, but they hold on super tight and nothing has cracked or broken.
