Good Value, check out the available DIY hacks to extend functionality

these have been around forever,I wish I would have picked one up sooner.Quite useful, esp on a motorized slider or remote operationwith 20’ (or longer) ext cord. Even at “fastest” setting, deviceis still pretty slow. This and other limitations can be easily modified.Just search the web for instructions.Kind of limited, out-of-the-box, but there are easy DIY / hackinstructions on the web for making the unit 360 degree- 5 minutes and screwdriver.(i.e. http://www.blindskunk.com/Bescor_MP101_360_Hack.html) andfurther plans for how to automate and program with an Arduino kit(i.e. http://protechy.com/bescor-mp-101-and-arduino-tutorial/)Recommend

Cheapie power supply with too-short cable failed after one use

The power adapter is a flimsy lightweight cheapie that failed on second use (right after the return window closed). It has only a 3-foot fixed cable, too short for any practical purpose. Even a standard tripod would have the the power-supply and the cord it’s plugged into dangling from the power jack of the unit without some extra securing. Couldn’t even test it on a table without an extension cord (that was first use). Good think I had a brick of batteries in my bag when I went to actually use it. It’s not the substantial-looking wall-wart shown in the listing or the Bescor website. Quite disappointing, especially since the seller was one of the few listed on the Bescor website as authorized to sell their products on Amazon. Does that mean Bescor is selling the flimsy lightweight cheapie? The head itself works pretty well. It may deserve 5 stars for the feature/price ratio. But this review is for the KIT, specifically with the otherwise optional power supply, and that is a POS.

Poor Workmanship. Stay away from this head.

I like this product BUT the speed control on the remote is not working on manual mode. The speed is always the same (fast) even when I slide the speed control. I’m not sure if the head or the remote is defective. I am returning it as that is one of the reason why I bought it in the first place.Update - April 4, 2017I returned the original head and received a replacement (super fast and thank you Amazon). The replacement is worse than the previous one. The head’s panning is stuck at slow speed and the same problem with speed control. The sliding switch on the remote feels like it’s not connected and no function at all. If you want to take a chance with $120, it’s up to you. I’m just thankful for Amazon’s return policy and it’s crew of amazing customer service. I just wish Amazon would not allow products with poor workmanship to be sold on their site.

Cheap assistant

I had looked for inexpensive pan and tilt heads on Amazon earlier and found only some very cheap versions with mixed reviews. I was pleased when I thought to look again and found this had found its way into the Amazon product list. It had good reviews and comments in a number of different places so I clicked on the add to cart link. I’ve been pleased.I use this when doing videos of some of my projects. Using this together with a wired remote to my Sony Handicam I’m able to set up most shots without getting up from my place in the scene and moving the camera around. That was usually a multi-move effort since I shoot solo and wasn’t in the scene. I’d either get the tilt too high or low. Same with the pan. Now I can move the camera to the angle and offset I want and use the camera remote to manipulate the zoom. Much easier. It also runs on batteries. I haven’t used it to follow a sports player or staged an outdoor scene but the head seems smooth and the movement consistent. Your on camera mic might pick up some servo noise but you’re not using that are you? :-)The bundle nature of this offering was economical saving a few dollars over the items priced separately.

Professional shots/videos obtained.

Quiet, smooth movement. All the settings work as specified/advertised. Have used it with a JVC cam, Canon Ti3 Rebel, and GoPro Hero4Silver. Works perfectly with all. Very, very pleased. This a heavily built item, be sure your tripod etc. can handle it. It’s not a toy. Professional results can be obtained. Used in conjunction with a camera remote, panning and tilting, and zooming are smooth (no jerks) and very very steady.

Have been wanting this for a very long time. Was very happily shocked when I opened the box. This baby is solid as a rock and performs flawlessly. Very highly recommended for multicam shooters. I use a 7” monitor and camera remote control along with it to properly adjust my shots.

Great for the price

Considering the price, this thing is amazing. It works just as it should, and is smoother than I could have hoped. The only thing I’d recommend is not putting something as heavy as a Blackmagic on it, and try to make sure you don’t have a lens that’s too heavy if using a DSLR. Having the added weight on this thing can make the tilting more difficult on the mechanism, and I’d be worried that this could cause problems over time. Additionally, the power chord is EXTREMELY short, so you need to have it plugged into an extension cable if you plan on using the DC as opposed to battery power. All in all this thing is great, especially for the price

Loved this product before it gave out

Bought this back in April. It worked for less than six months and then the up and down motor stopped working. All I use this product for was panning up and down on products i’m reviewing, thus this product has no use to me now when only panning left and right works. The Pan and Tilt head never left my apartment, and was handed very cautiously, thus is why I am so surprised it gave out so early. Loved this product before it gave out, but I am skeptical on ordering another one for it only to last another 6 months.

Faulty Remote

The remote I received is faulty, panning only works in one direction unless you hold the cable connection just the right way. Not ideal.

Not for me.

Didn’t like it, but it will do the job for someone else.

Five Stars

Great stuff!

Five Stars

Works just as described.

Moves nice and slow and is silent

Have been using at my church for a year now. Moves nice and slow and is silent.

Four Stars

very great and stabilized but its too big and need big tripod to hold it

Three Stars

Good value product but pan speed control is faulty

cheaper then an expensive tripod and was a better solution.

We use this to control our church camera. It has eliminated the jerks and over pans that we experienced, cheaper then an expensive tripod and was a better solution.
