Bought this just to knock out a few household tasks (building ikea furniture, installing a TV wall mount, hanging pictures, etc.) so I didn’t want to break the bank to do so. The drill gets the job done, especially for the price, but I wish it had some sort of speed control. It has one speed, and that speed is very fast. That was fine for drilling into my walls, but ended up making some tasks like a building an ikea bed a bit harder than good old fashioned man power.
This is a good drill with lots of power, only real thing I don’t like with it and the reason for 4 stars is you do not have the ability to control speed or power either by a torque clutch behind the bit clutch which I knew before purchasing but also not in the switch. Once you apply even the slightest bit of switch pressure, you are at 100% power. Not bad if your drilling. Not perfect if your screwing.
Eventually you get tired of looking for your screw gun only to find out the battery is dead. Then you find out the battery for it won’t take a charge anymore. I got to that point so I got this and I’m glad I did! Yes it’s powerful so be forewarned. You need to find the “sweet spot” with it, but I’m SOOOOO happy I don’t have to look for a dead battery anymore!
This is my first drill and I purchased it to drill some holes in some of my gardening pots. This thing has some serious power!!! I drilled the holes in my pots in minutes flat and was walking around the house trying to see what else I needed to do! Haha. I’d definitely recommend for a beginner like myself!
I bought it for several projects, and the price was amazing so I figured why not. I’ve definitely put it through hell and back. The Chuck broke fairly fast, but I just stick a nail or stick or whatever is laying around into the cooling fan to keep it locked while tightening.
I love this tool so much. It is my first corded drill, and I use it for everything. My stepdad begs me to use it because his cheap Chinese made drill from 10 years ago won’t even hold a charge let alone drive a screw for longer than an hourThat being said, the power of this drill itself does bring some downsides. The first issue I have with the drill is there are really no speed or strength controls. Its like having a machine gun, full blast, full speed. Due to that, I know see the upsides of the significantly less powerful mobile battery drills, and am thinking i may need to also purchase one as this thing has so much power, you will be afraid to use it on smaller more sensitive needs for it, ie: mounting televisions, consumer electronics, etcetera.
This item works- you squeeze the trigger and the bit spins. It does not have any variable speeds. Perhaps I’m spoiled, but I didn’t realize these existed without that feature. It is essentially a no-frills functional item, but at the same time, gives me no reason to absolutely love it.
I love this drill, it is really worth the price and has made building things so much easier for me, however you do need to purchase extra drill bits if you want to make holes along with what holds them into the head piece which was an extra $18 to purchase.
the chuck was frozen in place could not move at all, had to return it.
Drills way to fast, can not even grip screws. I am not happy.
Very handy to have.
Great drill!
