I purchased this item along with these other 2 items:Bonide 024 Concentrate Neem Oil Insect Repellent, 16-OunceBONIDE PRODUCTS 775 Ready-to-Use Copper Fungicide, 32-Ounce (spray bottle)I found that if you mix 1-2 tablespoons of Copper Fungicide with 1-2 tablespoons Neem Oil (per gallon of water) and spray/saturate (top and bottom of leaves, stem and about 2-4 inches around the ground at the bottom of the stem) every 2 days in the beginning and any time after it rains, it works wonders.Remove and discard/burn any and all infected leaves every day. After doing this for the first couple of weeks…you can back off a bit and spray once a week…so on…TIP: Only spray very early mornings or early (cool) evenings….the sun WILL bake then if they haven’t had a chance to dry.I always did mine early mornings just as the sun was rising. That way they were dry before the sun hit them.If you do it in the early evenings…make sure they have time to dry before nightfall….they don’t like sleeping while wet….neither do I.
First of all, this stuff works! We planted some Leyland cypress trees and one started turning brown and was rapidly spreading. The local extension office examined it and told us it was a disease that cypress can get and to use a copper fungicide. First we bought the ready-to-spray type, but it’s around $10 a bottle and it takes about a bottle to fully cover a 5-6” cypress tree. Then we found this which has to be mixed, but is much more cost effective. The tree had to be treated every week for a bit, but the copper fungicide stopped the progression of the disease right away. The continuing treatments have gotten it healed pretty well and kept it from spreading to adjacent cypress. Overall very pleased with the product. Of course I like the convenience of the pre-mixed spray better, but not the price, so when you need to use it regularly or for large coverage areas, I would suggest getting this and mixing yourself.
Kills powdery mildew on pumpkins but must be reapplied at least biweekly to keep it at bay. I ended up switching to another product when squash bugs invaded my pumpkin patch-but this works. Use early in AM or dusk or it can burn leaves and avoid spraying flowers.
Used copper Fungicide on most of the Garden…This is the first time that I have had squash last and produce so much in a season. Used on tomatoes and out of 12 vines, i only lost one vine (seemed to be a blight, I harvested the green tomatoes and pulled the vine up) the rest have produced great and no blight or rot. This is a very good product.
I have had peach curl and a fungus on one of my grape vines, that Copper Fungicide seems to have cleared up, or at least put the skids on growth. I understand that it is more effective in the Fall, but I am beginning a once a month treatment since I just noticed the symptoms in Spring
Used for Peach leaf curl–so too soon to know if will be totally effective this rainy year but has been in the past, rain or dry so I have full confidence it will work fine.
Used late in the season, blight was hitting everything,,,, now under control, have to spray more often because of lots of due in the mornings. Won’t be with out this next growing season
got a serious case of early blight in my tomatoes this year and besides trimming as much infected leaves off, this seemed to do the trick to prevent spread. I’ll use it as a preventative next year.
A great buy for the organic gardener and it stops blight in it’s tracks.
So far, hasn’t worked and I’ve followed directions to a T
Really worked .my quince bushes had brown rust on leaves. Took about 2 treatments to clear the problem up.
Great Thank You
does not keep black spot off of roses in Virginia
My mango tree, did not have many fruit. I was told to use copper. Oh my gosh, flowers everywhere. Will have a great harvest this time around.
does what It needs too
I bought this because my tomato plants already had blight. I used it once a week for three weeks, and it really seemed to slow the blight down on the ones that had it, and…
Not impressed.
