Fits good in my 1999 Chevy Silverado!

Great radio fits perfect in my 1999 Chevy Silverado and looks good too. Easy install comes with everything you need.

Outstanding Value

I was originally between this and Chinese Bosion radio, and initially went with the Bosion. At first that unit was ok, but after two months, I couldn’t stand it any more and pulled it our and decided to go with this radio. Please keep in mind the 5 stars is a rating of the value of this unit, not a rating compared to higher end units. I installed it in a 2011 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab with the original Rockford Fosgate OEM unit, and kept the amplifier from the OEM unit. This unit doesn’t have a lot of frills, but accomplishes my needs:-Descent sound and radio reception-Nice screen for backup camera-Bluetooth for streaming/phonePros:-Outstanding sound quality (I’m no audiophile). Lightyears beyond the Bosion (also sold under the Pugpug brand and many other names) Much better than the last.-Bluetooth sound is great, both on streaming and on phone calls. Callers on the other end couldn’t tell I was on Bluetooth. (Note: where you mount the unit makes a difference)-Radio reception is extraordinary. Recently travel to Northern Wisconsin and was able to receive radio stations from home for well beyond any other radio I’ve had.-Simple Radio when you want it. I can leave the screen in and not have a giant glaring distracting screen staring at me while I drive, but can pop the screen up for backup camera when needed.Cons:-As other users have pointed out, trying to fool the clock out of using RDS time will drive you mad. Probably a result of such a strong tuner in the unit picking up eastern timezone time signals.-Screen and digits are a bit dim in bright light.-There is no illumination hook up, so it will not auto dim adjust based on dash/headlight settings. Not a deal breaker, as I set mine to red and works fine for day/night.-Sticks out of the dash a bit more than I desired, but this is required for the screen to have enough clearance to deploy.Just and FYI, this unit doesn’t interface with Iphones via the small connector, but the streaming via bluetooth works great. Some other notes:-There is no “amp on” signal wire, so you have to wire your amp on directly to the acc/on. I wired my amp signal directly to the power wire for the radio.-I custom fit my Metra face plate to allow be able to install the radio in the lower position. All the kits are set up for the radio to be in the upper portion of the mounting kit. The Scoche kit for the Nisan Frontier will not work for this radio, you have to use the Metra as it has a wider clearance.Hope this helps!

Four Stars
Much better than factory radio in every aspect.

I bought the used one from Amazon fulfillment. I didn’t hook up all the extra features and did a very basic install. The antenna connector was smashed but I wasable to wrench it open. Radio has better reception than the factory unit. The power output is way stronger and I need to upgrade the factory speakers or they will blow if I turn volume past 34 ( goes up to 40). The factory speakers also cannot handle loud mode without distortion or bass boost in someTouch screen is neat. The motorized open close operates nicer than I expected. Even though I was worried, very happy it isn’t clumsy in its operation or blocking anything. It displays time month day year when radio is on on big clear display. The radio displays station name artist song info as its playing. Functions on the screen easy to navigate and use even though I didn’t read instruction manual. Touchscreen is very impressive and seems very feature rich. It is actually very nice.Dvd player requires hooking up parking brake wire or else it will not show video. I haven’t done that yet. Haven’t used camera or phone features yet either. However in camera mode the screen indicates to me how it would work enough to warrant buying one and hooking it up.The different modes (radio/cd/dvd/camera/aux/sd/usb/phone) easily transition so effortlessly that the execution of implementing these features was well done and not an afterthought.Still haven’t learned the remote but is nice addition. Useful for power on/off and opening or retracting the touchscreen.Eq is friendly and more than sufficient for blending speakers into a natural sound. The presets like auto and optimal helped get the best sound from my cheap speakers with minimal testing and setup. With better speakers one could really do the deck justice and achieve premium sound. It has 8 bands instead of my preference of 13 bands but is very robust.Only downside I really found was amp hum was not pleasant. It’s barely noticeable when playing music but I can hear it at low volumes, say volume 4. I’m new to car audio so can’t say what is acceptable for this price range but it doesn’t noticeably affect SQ.At first I assumed the larger wattage from the Boss Audio integrated stereo amp was the culprit since my factory amp is smaller. But my factory amp is in the trunk. I don’t know what if any sounds it makes. And at that distance not an issue. The hum sounds funny and bothers me, it sounds scratchy. It makes me think damaged head unit internals or defective ones. Was it played hard and long causing wear from overheating? Was it wired badly and shorted many times? Or was cost an issue and money was put more into the high end features instead of better component circuitry. Probably the latter since this retails on Crutchfield for $179 (I paid $85 refurb) and other units at car toys are $500+. Either way not a deal breaker since I believe I can not get better at this price range however would try to improve this minor detail when upgrading and getting more serious.

Beware the screen hitting your GM truck shifter and the UI is clunkytown but otherwise a great system!

1). Watch out in Silverados and other GM truck vehicles, as the screen can get blocked by the column shifter,2). Touchscreen is indeed finicky. Consign yourself to a laggy interface and requires either a patient, careful touch or fingernail edge (or the included stylus, but who’s going to bother with that?).3). Lots of settings are buried in very unintuitive menus. Annoyingly so.4). Pretty good sound, even with middling speakers. I installed two new ones and kept the tweeters in and I’m pretty satisfied. Could use an amp or subwoofer to fill out the lower range.5). Adjustable lighting is fun and features-wise the deck is quite versatile and well-optioned for the price. Loudness, EQ or basic Treble/Bass controls via big display or deck controls. I’ve had no problems keeping my phone connected (and auto-connecting). The only annoyance there is the display flapping out whenever I get a call, though I suppose I could turn off calls via BT.6). Fits a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado LS well enough with a wiring harness adapter to make things easy. Just watch that flippin’ screen with the shifter lever.

Item did not work no volume except for Subs outputs

After paying a professional to hook up the system I find out that just the RCA outputs work for Subs no volume on interior speakers very disappointing money down the drain I…

Screen eventually stopped working and the USB insert never worked …

Screen eventually stopped working and the USB insert never worked. Other than that the radio was shipped on time and played music.
