Very dependable product. Finally an optical cable with firmly fitting connectors. Optical cable connections are notoriously iffy: connectors don’t sit well and easily fall out when the cable undergoes any movement. In this regard, this cable is way above average. It’s stiffer than most, thus does not readily kink. I am totally satisfied.Ordered this cable again: this time they came with a creative solution to the perennial problem of the plastic end-covers that shield the optical core: see the attached figure. The plastic covers are tied to the cable with sleeves. Neat!

Rigid and high quality cables!

With this cable, no more excuse to use the tiny speakers that our Curve TV have. We can now watch netflix with high definition sounds now that it’s connected to our receiver. A++ cable, you can tell by just looking and touching it that it is high-quality and very durable. This cable will be run in our attic and the quality of the cable will surely keep us in safe minds, knowing that this cable is so rigid, nobody can bite through it!

Digital Optical Audio Cables

I have to say I was caught by surprise on the quality of these cables due to the price that I paid for them. When I received these cables I was amazed at the thickness and quality of the material. I have had them for over a month now and they work better than cables that I have purchased from a pro audio/video store for a fraction of the cost. I would highly recommend these to anyone patient enough to wait for the product to arrive at their house as oppose to going directly to your local store. Well worth the wait.

Good Quality Cable

Probably not much need for digital optical cables unless one is in need of workaround connections between new and previous generation equipment which is what I was trying to accomplish. I used it to supply a audio connection between my new TV and a 3 year old surround sound system without ARC capability. This appears to be a very high quality cable and works perfectly for my application. Maybe less expensive cables would have worked just as well but, in my experience, paying just a little more for a higher quality cable is worth the few extra dollars.

Impressive construction

I haven’t used other optical cables before so this would be my first, but I knew going in that I wanted something that would be sturdy and not bend easily where the cable is terminated (usually a problem for thinner cables such as USB or 3.5mm TRS). This cable is built to be very strong, in fact it would actually pull the DAC I’m using it with onto its side before I positioned the cable in a certain orientation. This is difficult to explain, but it will be obvious if you are plugging one end into something that doesn’t weigh very much. I think this product should last quite a long time and certainly won’t pose the same issues that thinner cables would when they eventually start to drop signals because of wear and tear.

Value-Priced Cables that Perform As Well or Better than Expensive Brands

I bought a 2-pack of these Toslink cables to use with an outboard DAC and tube amp (both made by Little Dot). I must say, I was both surprised and impressed by the build quality, design, and style of these cables as I had never used any made by Cable Matters. The cloth jacket, terminals, thickness, and protective caps are all areas that I think these cables deserve credit for given their price point. More importantly, their performance rivals that of more expensive brands. Based on my experience with Cable Matters, I would happily buy its cables again in the future – especially if the company makes HDMI 2.0 and USB 3.0 cables.

Great sound!

Got it to hook up my Samsung soundbar. Made a HUGE difference in sound quality over the RCA audio connection.One thing to be aware of is that optical cables won’t carry a volume signal like RCA will, so you’ll need to control volume with something other than the TV remote.Also, take the little clear rubber caps off the ends. May be obvious to everyone but me, but as a first time optical user, I missed them and cursed myself for getting the wrong cable until I researched and found they were just covers instead of part of the cable.

Excellent quality - one of multiple purchases from Cable Matters. They pay attention to the small details - like the cover caps being attached with a lanyard etc. Will keep purchasing from CM as the need arises
