Durable rust-resistant powder-coat finish for lasting functionality and good looks
Camco’s Hitch Mount Flagpole Holder fits standard 2”Hitch receivers. It holds flagpoles up to 2” in diameter and includes a thumbscrew to hold the pole in place. The holder has a powder-coated finish.
Works perfect! I used PVC for my pole.
This product works well enough, if you’re looking for a stationary flag holder. But for driving with a flag down the road, I would look for another product. For those of you with a stock Jeep Wrangler, this should clear your rear tire. But if you have a larger carrier or wider spare, you make need to drill another mount hole. I had to drill this to stick out about 1.5” farther in order to clear my JCR adventure tire carrier with 12.50” wide tire, but your individual application may vary.I ordered this because I needed a flag holder for a funeral ride, and it served its purpose with some modifications. I used a 1 1⁄4 black iron pipe as the flagpole, and secured that to my spare tire using a ratchet strap - I would not have trusted the holder to hold the flag on it’s own at highway speed.Pros:- Works well for a stationary flag holder, with poles around 2” in diameterCons:- The threaded hole is just a M8 x 1.25 pitch lock nut, welded to the tube. Being a lock nut, there isn’t much depth to the threads, and I found that mine wasn’t working well and was crossthreading the supplied key. I had to chase the threads with a tap.- The tightening bolt wasn’t long enough to tighten on flag poles much smaller than a 2” diameter. I had to buy a M8 x 1.25 bolt to reach a smaller diameter pole- Welds were adequate, but not full length. About a 1” weld in two spots on either side of the triangular brace, but fully welded where the round tubing meets the square tubing.- Metal thickness is 14 gauge (0.0747”) which seems thin.- Square stock was a loose fit in my receiver, and required use of a hitch “anti-rattle” device to lock it in place well.Overall impression: This served its purpose for one use, when I did not have the time to fabricate my own. However, I would not recommend this product if you plan to use less than a 2” diameter flag pole, or if you plan to fly the flag while driving. I will end up making my own to replace this, and it will probably end up in the scrap steel pile.
I just wanted to say that this worked perfectly for me to proudly fly our American flag off the back of my vehicle for the Fourth of July! I do have to mention that when driving at speeds of greater than 25 mph, the mount does start to wibble-wobble a little bit (depending on how tall your pole is), but it really isn’t a big deal so no need to worry! It looks like it’s very strong and should last many years to come. This does what I need it to do and the price was right but I was disappointed by a few things. While the overall quality is very nice the top edge of the post where you place the flag pole is very sharp and actually scored the fiberglass pole I was using. It was almost sharp enough to break skin. I had to touch it up with a file. The other weak link is that the thumb screw is very short so you can’t easily use smaller sizes of poles in this without making some modifications.I’m using this with a 2010 Jeep Wrangler and it is long enough to clear a 33” tire on the rear carrier. That was what I liked about it the most.
Great quality product. It’s longer than I thought it would be but for my jeep with the spare on the back I get about 3inches clearance past the spare
Good and strong. The hole will take a 2” PVC sch 40 pipe.
This is what all my Jeep club uses, well made, but it is so big. Not a bad thing, just make sure you see one in person first. I had to make a homemade flag pole to work for my flag to fit this. All the parts are available at Home Depot.
Well made and works well. The only issue that I had was with the set screws. They are sized so that they only work with a pole that fits the holder exactly. This was solved easily with a trip to the local hardware store for longer thumb screws (careful they are metric threads).
Pipe was bigger than expected but it works great.
Cheap easy way to add a flag pole to any 2” hitch. Made my pole out of 2” conduit. Fits nice and tight. Drill two holes for eye bolts.
Very good product
Works perfect. Made my own flag pole for it.
Very sturdy and well made.
Made my own pole to put my flag on but this thing is quite sturdy. Taken this down the road at speeds of 70+mph. It doesn’t make too much noise moving around either.
used for my Jeep for several hours on the freeway with no issues. Used PVC for a flag pole works great
Very nice!
Not the best quality but it does the job, the only problem I had was getting it to fit snug into the hitch. It seemed to wiggle quite a bit. Overall for the price it’s not too bad.
