The Jet Valve cap is spill-proof and self-sealing so you can squeeze some deliciousness down your gullet quickly and get back to what you were doing.
CamelBak Podium Chill is a high performance insulated sport bottle that keeps your water cooler longer. A double-walled bottle construction uses closed cell foam technology to keep your water cold twice as long as a standard bottle. The patented spill-proof Jet Valve allows the user to hydrate immediately without having to open or close a drinking interface and the bottle’s streamlined ergonomic design offers excellent squeezability without compromising bottle grip. The large aperture of the drinking nozzle generates an exceptional water flow rate and is easy to remove for thorough cleaning. The Podium Chill also has a lockout dial with easy to read graphics for leak-proof transport.
I love these. I bought three (one for cycling and two for running) to replace bottles that required me to pull up the valve top so I could drink (one had busted). I only wish I had replaced them earlier. These make taking a quick drink super easy - especially hike on a bike. Just point and squeeze. I have found that I am drinking way more water while cycling with this bottle and that is a good thing. Now I debate buying the larger size! I have run for over an hour in warm temps and the water is still very cold at the end, even if my ice cubes have melted. I wholeheartedly recommend these.
The insulation is decent. It kept my water from getting hot in the sun and from freezing when temps dropped. It’s no Yeti cooler, but it’s better than a standard bottle. This size just fits my full suspension bike (2013 Kona Satori, large frame). I like to carry as much as possible (not a hydration pack fan) and this is the biggest one that’ll fit.If you’ve never tried CamelBak’s mechanism, it works great, doesn’t leak (even in the “open” position), and you can replace the valve without tossing the bottle. Overall, it’s the best bike bottle out there.
I needed a water bottle to take when I go walking with my husband. I used to use a Brita filtering bottle, but we recently moved to a place with well water, and the filter is no longer necessary. I looked at many different brands and types of bottles and settled for this (pink/gray). I say settled, because I would have really liked something with a cuter design, but function was more important to me. I like the spill-proof jet valve, because it allows for good control and no leaking. I just wish they didn’t insist on covering their products with the brand name. Putting it somewhere in plain view is fine, but cuter patterns would be nice.
We have 3 of these bottles. 1 now for over a year. The locking feature on this bottle is excellent and avoids spills in my kids backpack and at school. I just don’t like that there is now visible grime at the base of the plastic mouth piece that I can’t clean out. I tried taking off the spout (I don’t think is supposed to come off but I pried it off) and I still can’t get to the part where the grime is trapped. Looking at the design I don’t believe the water travels over this now grimy area but it looks disgusting. I wish they would sell replacement caps.
Will this bottle fit on a road bike with an extra small frame?Yes. I have a bottle cage on the seat tube and the down tube. This bottle (21oz) fits perfectly on the seat tube. On the down tube I carry a 24oz bottle.Almost all my drink water products are CamelBak. You can never go wrong with them. &if something does go wrong with them, send it back and they will send you a new one. I love companies that makes sure that their customers are 100% satisfied.
Although I love my Podium Chill bottles for everyday use, I find they’re not easy to pull in and out of my bike cage. I prefer the shape of a couple of other insulated bottles over these since I have small hands. Also, even though I fill them to the brim with ice and then add super cold water, on hot days the ice is usually melted before I can even ride 20 miles. One trick I did learn, though, is to fill them 3⁄4 with water and freeze them upright and then add cold water before I ride. I’ve enjoyed 30-40 mile rides with ice still in the bottle by the end of the ride.
Works REALLY well. I needed a water bottle for my kids, and i didn’t want to worry about it spilling/leaking, especially since they like colored drinks and those tend to stain. You can squeeze the bottle or simply suck on it. Either way it doesn’t leak, and it does keep the drink from getting warm quickly when you’re outside in the 90+ temps.
I ordered this CamelBak because I’d left my original one in a bathroom and didn’t realize it until after I boarded a plane. No-one was allowed to get off the plane once they were on. When I returned home I ordered this one, especially because I still had the old holder which I use when hiking. To my delight, this newer one is so much better than the old one. It’s lightweight and so easy to drink from: just tip it, squeeze the sides, and voila, cool water goes into my mouth. The bottle is also so much easier to take care of because there are only 2 parts: the bottle + the top.
highly recommended
Leaks when pressing
keep water cool for a long time
Love it! works great and keeps drinks cold.
Works great as expected.
As advertised! Love it!
Didn’t even keep my drink cold for an hour. Very disappointed> Would love to meet these people who said their water stayed cold as I must be doing something wrong.
Just got my bottle and it seems like it should be good but there is a piece of clear plastic on it that says “remove before use” I cannot remove this thing.
Doesn’t insulate at all!!
