CamelBak Got Your Bak Guarantee: If we build it, we’ll Bak it with our lifetime guarantee
CamelBak Podium 21 oz revolutionized the sport bottle by offering an innovative design that simplifies high performance hydration. The patented spill-proof Jet Valve allows the user to hydrate immediately without having to open or close a drinking interface and the bottle’s streamlined ergonomic design offers excellent squeezability without compromising bottle grip. The large aperture of the drinking nozzle generates an exceptional water flow rate and is easy to remove for thorough cleaning. The Podium also has a lockout dial with easy to read graphics for leak-proof transport.
Not an improvement over prevous version. Camelbak decided to make this bottle a little shorter than the previous version by getting rid of the indentation near the top. Instead there are very subtle grips around the mostly smooth bottle. Unfortunately, this causes the bottle to easily slip out of bicycle bottle holders. Add the fact that this bottle seems to be thinner plastic that squeezes very easy and the result is a lost bottle on the first big bump. Sometimes design engineers need to leave well enough alone or at least test the design in real world conditions.
I fly a small single engine plane during the summer which has no AC. Fill this with ice and water and I have cold water all day long. Over the course of the day the ice will melt so you may only have cold water for 4 hours or so, but still. In the winter, I have to be careful not to put too much ice in or at the end of the day I still have a lot of ice. Love it so much, bought a 2nd.
Very nice water bottle, fits the hand and my cup holder very nicely. Doesn’t leak, with the valve unlocked, when turned upside down. Environmentally responsible thing to do. I fill it from from Brita water canister. If you don’t want the spout to touch your lips because it might have been contaminated, just hold the bottle an inch or so from your mouth and give it a squeeze for a nice stream of water. Locking mechanism worked fine too, but I rarely have the need to use it.
I have always used these podium camelbacks for my bike bottle cages. Got saddle cages this time, and two of these camelbacks. They fit in perfectly, easy to pull out without compromising much. I use them majority of the times with plain water. If you are using any electrolyte drinks, I would recommend washing them immediately after. The deposits tend to stick around the sipping cap, which might make fungus grow on it. I wash it with hot steaming water (do not know if the plastic is good enough not to leech anything in the bottle) followed by a cold rinse.
The bottle was spillproof for about 3 months (thru the winter) but now it leaks every ride. I have to clean up all the liquid that dripped onto the frame and near the front derailleur. Eventually, the FD was so gunked up from the leaked liquid that the trim function got stuck leading to chain rub. Luckily I was able to adjust accordingly, but I definitely need new bottles. Any recommendations?
Camelbak are my preferred water bottle. The spout works great, never leaks and is always easy to drink from. But, I have to complain a little about the bottle. While it is easy to squeeze and drink from, especially with CamelBak’s awesome spout, I don’t like how much it bulges out. I wish is was perfectly straight. Yes, perhaps it would remove a bit of the flexibility, but probably not. I can’t tell if the bowed-out appearance is part of their desire to sit more tightly in the cage but I don’t like the feel or the way it bulges in the cage as much as their older bottle desigs.
I was in need of a second set of bottles for when we are out and don’t want to take our stainless steel water bottles (which can be heavy when full). I also wanted to make sure the bottles were also leak proof like my other bottles so I don’t have to worry if they fall over in my bag or car. They have a locking feature which makes them leak proof. I don’t have to worry about a puddle of water (unless it’s squeezed, of course, if unlocked) which is great. These do the job perfectly. They are nice and are very light weight. Exactly what I needed and for the price it’s perfect!
As inexpensive water bottles go this is perhaps your best bet. Especially since, for some reason, other Camelbak Podium bottles cost double what this one does and they do nothing fancy (i.e. insulated etc.). The drink spout on this bottle is truly innovative.I was very nicely surprised to see the Camelbak Podium lid fits my Hydro Flask widemouth bottles perfectly, which makes for an interesting mix/match opportunity, especially if you usually buy the higher-price, extra-purchase sippy cup lid for your Hydro Flasks like I do.
very sturdy, great size, I really like the rubber nozzle. you can turn it one way for water flow, and the other way to cut it off. Great for kids or adults.
Nice
came as expected
Great water bottle, my kids sleep with them every night and they don’t spill!
In my opinion CamelBak bottles are the best.
Exactly what I wanted
Small and flimsy. Not like the normal quality.
Excellent, so easy to use.
I received the clear red water bottle instead of the rally red, dissapointed.
