Nice fit for all the pieces with the foam insert that’s already included. For me, it was really easy to cut the foam in the bottom section for adding additional parts. I love all the slots that are already available for my extra batteries. I can fit my U818A-1 quadcopter, 6 batteries, the controller, charger, SD card reader, 4 extra props and still have room for a few tools. Everything I’ve put in it fits very snugly so I don’t have to worry about anything falling around inside when I carry it.As others have said before, the handle DOES feel like plastic (even though it’s painted a chrome color) but the hinges, edges and buckles on this case are fairly sturdy. It’s true, you get what you pay for but this case is the right price. How much would I really be willing to spend on a $50 quadcopter, anyway? I have to agree with another reviewer when they said it’s about the same quality as a case you would buy at Harbor Freight Tools. Before I bought this one, I looked into buying a molded plastic case but anything that was large enough (19” x 13” x 4”) was at least $70 or more. And after I received it, I customized my Red Rock case by adding a cool drone sticker on the top! Looks pretty impressive when I pull it out in front of friends and family.In my opinion, it’s much better looking than carrying it around in the original box!! I’d buy it again if this one ever got broken or lost. But do I think it will last me for years and years?? Well…. no.
I like the way the case looks, how light it is with all the drone and accessories, how thin it is and the foam cushioning inside. The only problems are that the UDI 818A with mounted landing gear does not fit without modification by cutting slots in the foam thus allowing them to fit and then the copter body and motors fit into the slots already cut-out. Then it is a snug fit and works fine. The newest U818A comes with a VR headset and bonus battery. The headset cannot fit inside the case along with all the other accessories and elements. To fit the controller into the provided foam space, the smartphone holder for FPV needs to be unscrewed from the 2.4ghz controller and then slots must be carved for the phone holder brackets so that the controller fits into the area provided. I also had to carve a new slot for the bonus 2800 mAh backup battery and that worked well in spare space. The two included batteries and the extra three I bought do not fit into the very small slots provided in the foam without struggling and so I just stacked all of them into one of the larger slots and stuffed the cords and chargers into the smaller slots. It works, but I was disappointed that all of those things were not taken into account. I expected the preformed foam to be an exact match since it was advertised as being for the UDI 818A. It still works and basically I am satisfied, but you don’t expect to be required to cut-up such a nice looking foam with a new product.
Nice case! Really makes carrying your quadcopter and accessories around much easier! There is room for extra batteries and places to place the extra blades and the portable charger I got with mine. I can pretty much put what I need in this case to go out to the park and fly this copter for a good hour and a half. Having 10 batteries helps but they are so easy to swap out of the copter that once you hear the remote start beeping the low battery tone you can bring it in swap out the battery in less than 30 seconds and have it in the air again. Of course I’m not interested in making it a pit stop so I take my time let the copter rest a few minutes and then back out. By making it a leisurely fun trip to the park I can actually spend 2 hours out there with my grand kids if I wanted to.
I got this case for my Blade 180 QX (awesome drone!!). I was able to cut the inside foam to fit just right! The price at $29.99 (thirty bucks) is good because its just enough that it works, not too expensive that it’s excessive. I just needed something to carry my quadcopter in. The picture makes it look super nice, so don’t get your hopes up too much. But I’m pretty happy with my purchase.
While not an expensive case by any means, it’s a huge improvement over using the factory box for storage and transportation. Cutouts are very snug, but better than the alternative. With the stock prop guard in place, it sits on top of the remote. If you remove the prop guard for something lighter (I’m using the bottom of a sports bottle), it handles and looks like a much more expensive aircraft- and a dedicated case only adds to this impression.
Nice carrying case, the only complain I have i that the cuts of the foam are no for the UDI 818A they did not consider de landing rails, in orden to make it fit, I hve to cut the foam to place the drone, other negative aspect is that the remote controller also dont fit on the space assign for it.
It fits my sons UDI 818A perfectly. Ours came with the larger battery charger so I had to cut out a little more space for it. It fits his spare batteries, charging cord and everything else perfectly. It will be much easier to store and transport with this case. This case probably won’t take much abuse. It is very lightweight. But it’s definitely worth the price and better than keeping the quadcopter in the original box on just sitting on a shelf by itself.
Fits the quad nicely and the foam is easy to cut to make space for other things. I added an additional battery slot, so it holds 7 batteries, plus blades, screwdriver, remote, spare gears, two chargers (original plus a 5 port), and a new Micro SD reader. Fantastic to be able to just grab the case and have everything I need to fly.
This case is a must for the UTI drones it’s rugged yet I text the Hilo in a Greatway very convenient for storing your power packs and assessor Rees for flight it’s with the money…
Great
Perfect fit!
Just as described, lots of cut-outs for storing all accessories and can easily be modified for odd sized items.
AAA+++
I like the case. Have not used it as it is a Christmas present for husband. The case is very sturdy and feels solid.
A great gift for our friend who has the quadcopter with no case!
The case appears well made and is classy looking. Ours arrived damaged but these folks made the replacement process so easy.
It protects the drone wonderful and keeps all accessories with it
comments powered by DisqusThe case did not fit the drone that was spec’d for it. Luckily I was able to modify the case to accommodate it. Not impressed though.
