These work great. As an adult who doesn’t usually have time to get a full proper warm up before a softball game, tossing with these before throwing with a regular ball is a great way to warm up the muscles without straining yourself to hurry with a lighter weight ball. Now I don’t have to throw a football beforehand - those are much harder to fit into a backpack softball bag. I almost don’t even need the lower weights for throwing, could almost use two weights higher.
These are apparently what they say they are. The seams could be better, since these are aimed at pitchers mostly, and pitchers like raised seams. These are pretty flat. The covers are leather as far as I can tell and haven’t come apart yet despite a decent number of balls into the ground or to the fence. The weight difference for at least the 9 oz one is slight enough that you don’t exactly get a workout throwing it, but enough that old men throwing to the daughters might feel it in the shoulder or elbow later. I don’t know about the included instructions (don’t throw over 60%), that seems a little pointless. My daughter used the 9 oz green ball and said, okay, let’s try the 12 oz ball. No arm injuries so far, and she may have picked up some speed but right now I’m relying on my eyes and I may be overly optimistic. I’ll have to get a functional radar if I want to know the answer to that.
You would not think that something so simple as a weighted ball wouldn’t help - but I find I am a lot stronger and can throw the softball much harder than before. This is really important when you are 65 and are playing with those young guys - you know 50 and above!
I bought these for my 13-14 year old position players so they could develop more arm strength in their throws. They love warming up with these. The 9oz one rarely gets used though since it’s very close in weight to an actual softball.
Great for pitching drills.
Good for young pitchers learning wrist snaps and to build strength
Quality is good. My daughter pitches for a HS in the Dallas area. She uses these in her pitching practices. Product is as-advertised. All four balls are different weights.
Really help my fast pitch pitcher! I can see a big difference.
As described
Exactly as we wanted for our pitching training
Exactly what I was looking for. Great for strengthening.
My daughter has been using these as part of her training now for the entire 12u spring season. Good for increasing strength but if your daughter is not throwing strikes to begin…
My daughter uses these balls for pitching. They are very durable.
My dog just loves chasing these balls around the yard. Will be doing it again thanks!
