2 gallon size is best

If you’re trying to decide between the 1 and 2 gallon Chapin sprayer, I recommend the 2 gallon because you can still fill it with only 1 gallon and then use the remaining gallon as a larger air spring. The larger air spring volume will make it easier to pump and spray longer.

This little sprayer builds up good pressure and seems to build it up with less …

A small and simple sprayer but it suits my needs. I do wish I had spent a little more and gotten one with a pressure release valve but it isn’t a big deal. This little sprayer builds up good pressure and seems to build it up with less effort than my old sprayer of the same size.

Will do the job if you plan on taking exemplary care of it

I operate a small farm so I’ve bought a few 2 gallon sprayers in my time. I was hoping for an imitation of the rugged model I bought in a big box store. So, the pros: the tank is solidly built and will not leak or rupture. The cons: The wand and hose and pump handle are made from plastics that are close to the cheapest of the cheap. Especially the hose and wand. I can guarantee that if this unit is left out exposed to the elements, especially heat, it will disintegrate to uselessness in a big hurry…it’s obvious that I’ll need to baby this along to get any life out of it. By habit I always thoroughly rinse sprayers and flush them with both water and air after each use, and store them in our workshop. For about $6 more, there are other models with extra features that make them much more serviceable and likely to last, like more rugged wand and hose components, and a pressure vent. For the price I suppose this was adequate, but I will not be purchasing this unit again because others out there are so much better made.

Caveat Emptor – The Chapin 2002 is a Basic Sprayer

Chapin 20002 Poly Lawn and Garden Sprayer For Fertilizer, Herbicides and Pesticides , 2 GallonI just started using this Chapin 20002 sprayer so I can’t honestly comment on its durability, which seems to be a major point of contention from other users. To that end, I do agree that it doesn’t seem to be made with some of the more solid materials I’ve seen in other sprayers. I won’t say it’s flimsy because I just haven’t given it enough time to make that evaluation in conjunction with other reviews I’ve read. To be fair, this sprayer worked very well on its first use. The spray pattern is quite satisfactory however the plastic components of the wand may cause problems in the future. The locking mechanism for the pump is uncertain. It requires about a ¼ turn to lock or unlock the pump and it doesn’t have a positive locked feel which could lead to unintended consequences. Unlike a lot of sprayers, including other Chapin products, the 20002 doesn’t have a constant spray lock in the handle for “fatigue-free spraying.” Also the 20002 does not have a pressure relief valve requiring a potentially more hazardous procedure of turning the pump handle to release the pressure. The tank quantity markings aren’t very well-defined but that can be remedied with a marker or some paint. The wand holder is composed of 2 indentations built into the lower part of the pump handle. They hold the wand parallel to the ground and are a little more trouble to utilize than I feel they need to be. So to sum it up I’ll give this sprayer a fair chance before deciding if it’s built to last. However, it’s important to note that the 20002 is very BASIC inexpensive sprayer whose features are accurately described on Amazon’s website. No more. No less.

Excellent garden sprayer!

I have used this sprayer for week killer and spraying 30 second outdoor cleaner around the house. These are really well built and are easy to use. This sprayer does not leak and doesn’t require many pumps of the handle to keep the pressure from dropping too quickly. it will spray quite a while before you have to pump it up again. The sprayer has an adjustable tip which will spray a stream or a wider pattern for close up work. The stream will reach up to 10 feet or more, so I have used it for the gutters and other high areas on the house. You simply loosen the handle to relieve the pressure once your done. I also have the 1 gallon version and they are both great!

Don’t buy this sprayer!

Went to use it for the second time, and I tried to unscrew the top, and it stripped out the 2 plastic notches that hold the handle down.Cheap plastic piece of junk. Won’t buy again. Can’t return it, because it’s been more than 30 days. I was going to use it once a month for pest control around the house.

Pump cracked, lost pressure, oops – then I found the problem and fixed it myself.

Worked for about 4-5 sprayings, then the threaded pump portion cracked, causing it to lose pressure.Update – I examined the pump while epoxying the small crack (it turned out to be superficial). I found that one of the gaskets had not been seated properly. I carefully reseated the gasket and voila, works again. If yours stops working, pull the pump and give it a quick look over, especially the rubber gaskets at the end of the pump. The top gasket should be flat, centered, and fit over the the whole rim of the plastic tube opening. Mine had folded into the tube on one side. I simply pulled the gasket edges out of the tube (did not take the whole thing off), and gently repositioned / centered it using some jeweler’s pliers (ones without the teeth which could tear rubber).

Great sprayer at a great price.

Great sprayer at a great price.Pros:1. Easy to open and close.2. Does not take forever to pump to full pressure.3. The ring on top allows for easy gripping to shake the container to mix.4. Sprayer is easy to actuate for long spraying jobs.5. Material seems to be of high quality that will last a while.Cons:1. Sprayer nozzle could be a bit better. I suppose it is more than acceptable for a sprayer in this range but would like to see more accurate stream to spray adjustment.2. (Maybe not a con but something to be aware of.) Make sure you release ALL pressure before you open it to refill. Even when empty you could have some left over pressure. This can cause spray-back in your face when you open it.Overall I recommend this sprayer for a homeowner like myself. I use it primarily for pest control. I will probably purchase 1 or 2 more for herbicide and fertilizer.

Unit contains products with lead. For a Garden Sprayer ?

The components in this product contain lead. They have no business using the word “Garden” in the “Lawn and Garden Sprayer” description used to promote and sell…

Good deal for the money

This is a very inexpensive low end sprayer but I’m happy with the purchase. I filled it to the max level and pumped it to build up pressure.

Worked great right out of the box

Great sprayer.

Awesome sprayer. Very happy with this product.

Sprayer works better than I had anticipated

So far it works very well. only used it twice but it’s working better than my old sprayer so I like it a lot so far.

Gets it done

Understand that this is a basic, stripped-down sprayer. There is no separate carrying handle; you make do with the pump handle. No shoulder strap either. No extra nozzles.

Works great, I would really recommend you do a good …

Works great, I would really recommend you do a good flush of the unit after each use so you don’t gum up the works, that way next time you go to use it the sprayer will be working…
