Char-Broil’s 4-feet Hose and Adapter adapts refillable LP tanks to lanterns, camping stoves, and tabletop grills.
I was in a dilemma and couldn’t choose between this 4ft hose and the 6ft one from Weber to go with my Weber Q1200 I just picked up.I was nervous about getting this one because all the upvoted reviews said it blew up or doesn’t allow enough propane.THIS IS NOT TRUE ( at least for me it isn’t )I think the problem most of the reviews were having is personal error. (No offense, I had no idea how to use propane until I did a little research myself)When you use propane, most people don’t know you have to PREP THE LINE.Here’s what I mean: (a sort of “how to”)First open the lid to your grill. (So that the propane doesn’t accidentally fill up within the grill)First make sure the propane tank and your grills propane adjustment knob are in the OFF position. (Just double check to be safe)Screw the hose into the tank and the grill snugly (but don’t wrench on it and over tighten it)With the GRILL propane knob in the OFF position, SLOWLY open the propane canaster valve. Now the most important part, WAIT at least 60 seconds before turning your to grill on to allow the line to completely fill with propane and pressurize. (Probably the wrong wording but that’s what it eluded to online.)Go ahead and turn the propane to the grill burns on. (The propane adjustment knob on your grill)Now and only now should you try to light the grill. That’s it. No explodeing hoses or lack of propane flow. Hope that helps!ALSO this propane hose is rated to the exact same psi as the Weber hose. It is essentially the same thing.I’m not trying to bash Weber products, I just didn’t need a 6ft hose and wanted to save $10.00.Also some of the reviewers posted pictures of a hose that looks like very old packaging. Maybe char-broil fixed their hoses and this is a newer version that I received. Who knows? If this was helpful please give it an up vote. Also if you have any other questions, go ahead and email through the my profile page on Amazon!
I purchased this adapter for my Weber Q-220. I had read the reviews for the Weber brand adapter and found that the Char-Broil had better reviews and was about $10 less, so I purchased this one instead. I tested the grill and the adapter for the first time early in the day on the Fourth of July. When I went to heat up the grill for dinner, I turned on the gas valve on the 20 lb. tank slowly, then turned on the gas for the grill and lit it. A few seconds later, I heard a pop and the rubber hose had blown off the adapter’s fitting. It appears that it may have not been properly crimped. Gas spewed from the hose until I could get the valve on the tank closed. Needless to say, this is a fire hazard and I cannot trust this adapter. I am a bit surprised that none of the other reviewers have encountered this.
This just doesn’t seem to make a good connection to the tank. I lubricated the connector to the tank and I have to use a great deal of force to close the tank. The tank works fine on my regular grill. This is used on a craftsman grill. I used a craftsman adapter but it was worse.
The hose works really well. I exchanged the regular hose on my portable gas grill and it worked fine.
Just as advertised. Make sure its the correct fitting for your item and you won’t be sorry with this.
it worked perfectly and it was so easy to install, it’s well made too
Excellent, as described, works great, appears to be of good quality1
Perfect fit for connecting my large propane bottle to my Weber Q.
good price vs others.
PERFECT!
perfect adapter to add to a large LP tank to our portable grill.
A must for using small griddles and grills
Item as described with fast shipping. We are quite pleased with this unit and would recommend this product.
I can hook to a 20 gallon tank. Anything else seems like a waste to me. Works fine.
excellent!
I still have not received the adaptor…..
