very sticky, much better than the garmin version

nice product!18 month update: after moving this mount between countless rental cars, the sticky suction cup had finally given up. Time to order a replacement. I will definitely reorder the same model.1 year update: after having used and abused the product for a year, I can say it works great! It is a huge improvement over the factory Garmin version. And no, it is not the same as the factor unit Garmin ships. This mount has a washable suction/adhesive surface that creates a strong seal to any clean surface, including dashboards.I travel constantly and move the mount between rental cars regularly. The mount is very stable and has never fallen off the glass, IF YOU KEEP THE SUCTION CUP SURFACE CLEAN (run it under water for a few seconds, then wipe off any debris). When used in hot weather, it can sometimes be more difficult to remove since the adhesion seems to increase with temperature. The key to removal in hot weather is to carefully peel away from the glass by pulling on the tab on the side of the adhesion/suction disk.I have also found it to be helpful to stick the paper disk packaged with the mount on the suction surface when not installed; it helps keep the disk clean.

In addition to a suction cup, there is some solid adhesive on the mount. I’ve moved it between several cars, and it’s still holding up. Works well on both the windshield and dash. I store it in a plastic bag when not in use to keep the cup clean between uses.

Holds On Textured Dashboard

The sticky base of this mount holds on a 2012 Prius textured dashboard. I’ve had no problem with the original mount holding on a cleaned windshield. However, the angle and size limitations of the window on a Prius makes the dashboard more suitable. It will be interesting to see how long the “stickiness” of this mount lasts. .

Design Flaws

This product stuck to the glass windshield just fine, but the gel applique provided for the dash was a gooey mess! Also the attachment for the Garmin NUVI did not fit properly, and my NUVI fell out of the mount several times. The last time I ordered this product, it came with a solid gel bottom that worked fine on both the dashboard and the windshield, also, my Garmin NUVI fit just fine. I suggest you go back to the previous design.

I like it for the window

I like it for the window, but when I tried to put it on my textured dash, it didn’t stick. I have an 07 Scion TC. It is hard to move on the window, because it does stick well. Make sure to put it in the right place the first time.

Hold MUCH better than the ones that came with my Garmin GPS. I suggest you get them at the SAME TIME you buy a new GPS>

As far as I am concerned this is a MUST if you buy a Garmin GPS. I like Garmin FPS’s BUT their suction cup mounts skink! Mine used to fall off all the time from my GPS and even my lightweight Garmin DAsh Camera. When I bought my new Garmin 6” 2699 GPS I ordered thjese mounts a the same time. They have a “sticky” suction material that works much better than the ones that came with the Garmin.The Garmin cups wouldn’t stick to my slightly textured dashboard. These stuck the first tie and have been on over a month without any problems.

Works well, in the heat the suck mount tend to unmounts itself from the base of the holder or the windshield. You just have to wet it a bit with moist wipe before mounting.

Outstanding but durable suction gadget to hold you NUVi series Garmin to the windshield of almost any vehicle. Highly recommended replacement for a lost or defective piece.

Grip Lock

I am very pleased with this product. It stuck directly to my dashboard, left no resisdue, and didn’t move for the 10 hours I had it mounted. This is an awesome product.
