Product Reviews

Works with tweaking on GTX 680

It worked but not out of the box,at first i would just get a black screen then pink and distorted and i flipped around all the different ports etc, made sure they were switched to 2.0 mode etc. then i started reading advice online, custom resolutions didn’t work at first then I saw someone who said they had to disable Scaling after which i then again attempted a custom resolution and it WORKED and i kept testing all the way up to 60hertz which test confirm.I now have 60hertz on my GTX 680 Kepler Card and that will do till i can save up for a replacement card.I don’t know what fixed it but I did do a clean install of drivers, turn off scaling and make a custom resolution with ct blank selected. It works and i just checked, scaling was turned back on at some point so maybe that was not involved at all

Finally made it work, and it is great!

Does not work. Not sure if I have a bad unit because all I am getting is a black screen saying that there is no connection to the chosen HDMI port. The UHD color is on, everything is done by the book. The display adapter is NVidia GTX970. The TV model is Samsung UN65KU6500. I will update my review IF I get this working but for now it is a 1 star only unit.Update: just got a replacement unit sent to me. Same problem.Final update: after all it turned out that access to the displayport itself was partially blocked by the back fan’s cover preventing the device to be inserted all the way. The solution was to move the graphics card one PCI-e slot down to allow uptab to make the proper contact.

The best 4k UHD color enabled active display port to hdmi 2.0 adapter.

This adapter was tested a couple ways. First I used it to drive a Samsung 49” Quantum dot 4k TV with a AMD RX 480. Works perfectly. A tip is use the ADVANCED control panel in Windows 10 to change resolution to 3840x2160@60fps. This will make the TV go into ‘PC’ mode.Second I used the adapter on a Arch Linux system which has also has an AMD RX 480. Under linux the HDMI 2.0 output does not work at 60hz, only 30. BUT with this adapter 60hz works, so it is very useful indeed.

A great example of finger pointing

If you are having any problems with a 4k tv connected to a computer, you need to consider this. I spent six months with LG blaming Apple, and Apple support having five senior techs working to solve the problem. A great example of finger pointing, with no solution. This solved the video problem. NO solution for the sound interface though. Apple can only send 2 channel to LG and LG can only handle two channel PCM. Why? who knows, both can handle 5.1 and neither can handle 7.2.4 if you know what that means

Works with Windows Mixed Reality Developer Headset

I ordered this adapter to use with an NVIDIA Quadro P4000 graphics card to be able to use Windows Mixed Reality developer headsets which use HDMI 2.0. Another adapter that I had didn’t seem to work although this adapter worked perfectly and with same day delivery I couldn’t have been happier. This worked with the Acer Mixed Reality developer headset and I’ll be trying it with the HP developer headset as soon as that ships.

Bought it just for Oculus rift but didn’t work.

My old Monster Cable DVI to HDMI 720p/1080i adapter work great for Oculus rift. Bought this DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 2.0a Active Adapter 4K/60hz just for Oculus rift but didn’t work, only hear sound and black screen when put on headset. I tried the adapter on my GTX980ti PC to 4K 3D Samsung UHD TV and work great with 4K/60hz.

I bought this device to connect my Samsung 40” 4K TV to my desktop PC which has an Nvidia Geforce GTX 770 graphics card in it. I knew going into this that the HDMI port on the graphics card was only version 1.4, and so would only support displaying 4K @30Hz. Using the UPTab I was able to link the DisplayPort connector on the graphics card to the TV and get 4K @60Hz - the picture looks really great and I can now use the TV as a PC monitor.I did have to futz about for a while using the Nvidia Control Panel to get things to work, which is no fault of the UPTab device, but once I got the correct setup it made a world of difference over my previous setup.

Good enough but could be better.

i will start by saying that it dose work…… but not as well as it could. it will work in a pinch but not as a full time solution. I use mine to adapt a display port so i can run 2 monitors ( 2560x1080) but i needed the hdmi 2.0 to drive the monitor and this 4k adapter gave me the bandwidth to handle it. that being said mine randomly cuts out and forces me to disconnect and reconnect it to bring the monitor back up. not the worst thing in the world but less than ideal.

Highly annoying. I’m so happy I never have to deal …

Great adapter that fits securely into my Radeon 480x graphics card. The other end is just a typical HDMI chord going to a 23’ Asus Monitor.

Five Stars

When the adapter changes, the picture quality changes. If you can not believe it, try it.

Five Stars

only adapter i could find that would do 4k@60hz 4:4:4 with HDR support on Madvr.

Works as expected

Worked great on my Windows 10 machine with a DisplayPort 1.2 port to get 4k at 60 Hz with RGB or YCbCr 4:4:4 color subsampling on the Samsung UHD TV I’m using as a monitor (which…

Works, but YMMV

This didn’t work at first with my Hisense TV and 750ti GPU, however for some unknown reason it has begun working.
