I use this for my dogs nails. Just let your dog sniff & touch it before turning it on. Be very patient. Turn it on and let them hear the Dremel tool. Then turn it off and let them sniff it or lay it near them. I sit comfortably near them and try not to stress as I do one nail and if they balk at the 2nd nail, I turn it off. Anytime they want to remove their paw from my hand or lap, I let them. I act as if I have all the time in the world. They relax and allow me to hold their paw for the 2nd nail. These Dremel sanding bands are just wonderful for giving my dogs their pawdecures. There are no sharp edges to snag on anything. I also noticed my small dog no longer digs holes in my back yard now that I keep his nails trimmed. No idea if those two are related - just thrilled no holes in my yard.
This is a review of Dremel 445 1⁄2” 240 grit sanding band, 6 Pack.I bought my Dremel tool, Dremel 8050-N/18 Micro Rotary Tool Kit with 18 Accessories, primarily for grinding my dog’s (Standard Poodle) nails. I’ve had much better luck using Dremel brand sanding bands for that purpose. The knock-off sanding bands (which are far less expensive) are simply not as effective or as long lasting as the Dremel brand. Yes the Dremel brand bands cost more but the quality is worth the cost.I can grind the nails of my dog many times before I need to replace the sanding band. Totally worth it as I will only use 3-240 grit bands a year to do my dog’s nails. The sanding band in my photo is a 120 grit and has been used at least 10-14 times to grind my dog’s nails. It is still getting the job done. I first use the 120 grit bands to quickly get most of the nail ground down then use the 240 grit bands to finish the nails. I find that the 240 grit bands can’t be used as many times as the more coarse 120 grit bands but I still get many uses out of them before I need to replace them
Works good on nails. I use this to sand down my dog’s nails. Fine enough that you could sand your skin without any discomfort. The noise of the Dremel, dogs aren’t too crazy about. But with the right handling and care, they wont have a problem.
I use a Dremmel for my Bullie’s nails and these do a great job. The grit is fine enough to keep the nail smooth and doesn’t take the nail down too quickly. The only down side to these is that they do wear down after three or four complete canine pedicures. I would like to find a sanding band that lasted longer. But, these are reasonable and easy to purchase so I will continue to use them.
Nice product but I think better deals than this can be found on Amazon
best we have used
Considering that a package consists of only 6 bands, I think that these are somewhat pricey.Price aside, they perform very well. I’ve found this to be the perfect grit for filing down my 2 dogs nails. They seem to deal much better with a cordless Dremel tool than with things like a PediPaws, which is noisier. Also useful for an intermediate sanding when I’m making custom scales for my knives. I wish that Dremel would make a few finer grits than this as it would be much more efficient than having to hand finish to the point where a Dremel is no longer useful for the purpose.
Works as expected.
Too rough for my Jack Russell’s nails. She kept pulling her paw away so we went to Lowe’s and bought a softer grit.
Works well.
Bought it use with the Dremel to file off the rough edges after I trim my dogs nails. Works great.
A tough band that does the job.
ok
NOT A BAD DRUM SANDER . THEY WEAR OUT TO SOON . SO BUY A LOT OF THEM
Works great, use on dogs nails!
