Product Reviews

It works well, should be aluminum

It would have been nice to have it made from aluminum as they cost enough to do so and still make plenty of profit. That said it works fine but I’m afraid if I tighten it to much to hold the right depth it will break.I love dremel products and own several of them I’ve bought thru the years but have also been watching them decline in quality for some time now, then again I see this with many things anymore. I bought a cheap complete kit for $29 (wont say where) as a second or to take with me for away from home use.it has the power tool and several tips identical to dremels. Its works every bit as well as it more expensive counterpart, sometimes I dont even bother with the dremel.Dremel might still have the edge but it gets smaller every time I buy another dremel part, being built in china there starting to be no better then units a third the price. Was going to give it five stars if it were aluminum but for a small plastic part I feel I have to take one away.Your paying more for the cutters then anything.Dremel does still have the best cutting and carving bits at a premium price but you’ll pay more for that either way for quailty.

Good accessories for a rotary tool.

Very handy attachment if you need to cut a precise hole in something. The cutting guide feels a little flimsy. You have to really check it when you are tightening it up because it can lock at a slight angle. The bits are good. They have no trouble cutting through wood. You just have to take your time and not force it to cut fast.

It fits my craftsman cordless dremel

It fits my craftsman cordless dremel perfectly. The threads match and the bits fit. The only problem is that the adjustment screw digs into the inner plastic measuring sleeve even with minimal pressure. It still works just fine but after just a few weeks of use the inner plastic sleeve with the measurement tick marks has a lot of wear from the screw. I used it to cut out holes in my toolbox mat so each one of my tools has a place and it worked great.

Very useful for all kinds of jobs.

I’ve used this numerous times so far and will continue to use it while working on various things throughout my house. First use of this product was to cut away some drywall so I could run electrical cables for my new tankless electric water heater. I drew some guidelines on the wall where I wanted to cut away so it would be easier to replace the piece after I was done. I then set the depth of the guide so I wasn’t cutting too deep and hitting studs or wires. To do that, I didn’t use the actual guage printed on there, I set it on the edge of some drywall and made sure the tip of the blade was just barely protruding to the other side. The big openings in the guide make it easy to see where you are cutting and follow your lines without a problem. It cuts through drywall without any issues. One more thing that it will do well is make a really big mess but I kind of expect that any time I tackle a home improvement project!I did end up using one of the wrong bits for the job at hand and kind of overheated it and dulled it pretty good. That was of no fault of Dremel, it was me not using my head on which bit I should actually be using for the job I was doing. I know they’re called drywall bits, but since I wasn’t letting the tip go completely through the drywall, I was using part of the tip to do the cutting and it does not seem like it was designed for that.Overall I am very happy with my job, and how straight I was able to cut. That made patching the hole in my wall so much easier! (I am in no way an expert at drywall. This was actually going to be my first patch job bigger than an outlet box opening so anything I could do to make it easier, I was all game for.)

Quality name brand product just like what you can buy at lowe’s or Home Depot

Quality name brand product just like what you can buy at lowe’s or Home Depot. I didn’t have any trouble with the kit. One thing to remember is that this does come with 3 cutting bits, one a multipurpose so you don’t have to buy any additional bits right off the bat. There is no explanation as to which is which but if you look at the tip 2 are the same while the multipurpose is different. All in all a good product and what I would expect from Dremmel.

Cures the fear of sawing.

Great attachment. Gave me the nerve to put that hole in my wall for the kitty door. Very helpful!

Works great, this type of but likes to walk around …

Works great, this type of but likes to walk around the work if your not using a guide, so make sure you have a firm grip on the tool. also, while it can do a decent job on 12 inch plywood, i wouldn’t use it one more than 14. the bits heat up too much and shatter. on foam, as long as the bit pokes out a bit, have fun.

OK for occasional use.

Good for occasional use. The first one I got broke after I stepped on it by mistake. The second one broke within one year, with very, very limited use. It didn’t help that this thing is mostly plastic…It is pretty hard to stabilize the Dremel tool when using it, especially at higher speeds. Also, the measuring indicator is pretty much crap. If you tighten it too much it will not be square anymore. All in all it is pretty decent if you don’t need too much precision.
