Product description DREMEL 6.0V Cordless Rotary
From the Manufacturer Ready to go on a minute’s notice, this two-speed cordless tool is perfect for a variety of do-it-yourself jobs inside or out.
I had a 12 year old cordless model 750 (4.8 volt) for occasional light use ( I have corded Demel tools for heavier use). Well the battery finally went belly up so I thought about getting the slimmer and probably handier lithium model for about $75 until decided to take a chance on this one since I have a bunch of rechargeable AA and AAA batteries that don’t see much use. The tool is identical size wise as my old 750 and even though this tool takes 4 AA and is 6 volts, the assembly holding the 4 AA batteries will fit the model 750 and seems to run it OK although it sounds a bit different than the new one. So now I have 2 motors and one pack for both. The new tool seems like a good quality for the money and for light work. Very pleased.
First of all, I’d like to state that this is Dremel 7000 tool, which is to be used with AA batteries. Certain reviewers confuse it with Dremel 7300, which uses rechargeable batteries. So, this tool was not designed to charge batteries in it, why to seek a charger for it, and complain for it’s non existence?Regarding the tool itself, initially I was a bit sceptical about it’s power, considering the voltage. When I tried it in work, I was pretty amazed. Believe or not, power is almost same as my corded one! Of course, set of batteries won’t make you going whole day, in fact, it won’t last you even a half of an hour, but, you can toss in rechargeables and keep yourself going. Please note, with plain 1.2V NiCD or NiMH rechargeables, this tool performs very poorly, due to low voltage. I’m using NiZN rechargeables with it (1.6V), and they work flawlessly!Overal, very nice tool for it’s price. Of course, the plastic quality and build quality is not pro grade, but still enough for any task you may imagine for this tool.
I bought this to use on my finger and toenails so it’s okay but for almost anything else I would pass and get a real Dremel. The batteries are rather hard to load and the whole process is somewhat confusing. It is good for toenails. Bottom line. I don’t like it all that much though Dremel is a great make of tools. Harbor freight sells a tiny motor tool for ten bucks which has a cord with an adapter. This Dremel is roughly on a level with that tool.
I bought this contraption because of the AA batteries despite the issue matching plenty of manufacturers where the best products in the line never offer the convenient double-A. That means though wanting the top features and willing to pay for them, I have grown weary of all the different chargers so chosen to accept inferior designs to obtain the convenience. Just need one AA charger for in my case about ten things around the home and vehicle. With that said, she works absolutely fine. Batteries go in, hold snug and power the Dremel. The price is great too. I may get a spare because life has taught me that many of my favorite things end up being discontinued prior to the time when mine finally breaks.
I have an 83 lb. GSD - I’m 5’ 3” and 130 lbs., so guess who wins in a nail-clipping wrestling match. When using the Dremel 7000, my dog lies still, completely unconcerned with the process. I also dispense treats during each grinding session, which helps.I purchased rechargeable batteries and a charger as well. Have used 30 minutes total so far, still going strong on low speed.
Bought this Drexel for cutting my dogs nails. It works well for this purpose. It may not be enough power for heavier use. That’s why I gave it a four star rating. It’s made well. Runs off batteries. Good for light use.
this came into the house for dad and the workshop. many uses….even one unexpected. grandmother has mobility/feet issues so Mom used this cordless with a light Dremel buffer tip, to gently file and buff toenails and some dead skin. before you laugh, it worked. all in all, it is a gem.
Perfect for plastic modeling. I mostly operate at low speed for detailed shaping. If you are an infrequent user rechargeable batteries (especially ni-cad) are a poor choice. Battery capacity will fall off over time. Better for me to have standard batteries that do not mind if the tool sits for months between usage. As is I have approximately an hour of active use on the first set of batteries and they are still going.
This is a nifty item for someone who does not use it every day. By using 4 AA batteries no charger is required.
I love this tool. The same dremel at my local hardware store was $80!! I order all of my tools from Amazon because the savings are insane.
I use for my dogs nails, 6 month later I found out that this stop working, when I remove the battery case that thing smell a burn plastic, so this is only good for 6 month.
Good
I use it on my toenails, I kid you nbot!
Though I like the dremmel I didn’t realize it was battery operated and not rechargeable. Burns through the battery fast.
I have a 120 bolt dremel that works fine but I needed one without all the “bells and whistles” for quick jobs without the bothersome cord. This one works fine.0
Compact but powerful for its size. Its compactness makes it very easy to use and that plus the number of available attachment tools increases the range of utility.
Low speed for dog nail grooming. Weinmariner loves it.
comments powered by DisqusI actually purchased this as an alternative to their pet dremel. It is the exact same thing, except more powerful (6v compared to 4.8v) and it works wonderfully.
