Used on Hard Maple

I used this cutting wheel on a Dremel 100 series tool to cut hard maple. Because I move quite often I try not buy many power tools, but I do have my compact/versatile Dremel. So I tried to use my Dremel to cut a 1” x 6” x 4’ piece of hard maple to make a paddle.Overall it worked well. I was able to cut the straight portions of my paddle in a half hour or so. I used a coping saw for the curved portions. I orginally tried to use the coping saw for the whole paddle but it was a lot of work and my cuts weren’t nearly as straight as when I used the cutting wheel. Because the cutting wheel only cuts about ¹⁄₂” deep I had to cut on one side and then flip the piece over and cut on the other side to make a cut the full depth of the wood. While I wouldn’t recommend to use this method to make many cuts, I would recommend it for small projects on hard woods for 1” thick or less and ideally less than ¹⁄₂” thick. I haven’t tried it on soft woods like pine but I would guess it would cut through it like butter.

Most used tool I have

I have used this tool more than any other tool all year. I made what looked like hand-carved wedding signs out of reclaimed wood. I just used this on my dremel and carved the wood into cool shapes and let the sun and rain do the rest for a few months then I used my engraving attachment on my dremel to carve out the wedding directions and arrows etc. I also used this tool to mount and cut out some big Photo Booth props. I glued some car posters to wood and cut them out. I have included a pic with my review just to show the worth I have gotten out of the device and at a huge savings from buying at the hardware store across from my house.

Where was this 20 years ago

This is a blade that works great. The old, smaller, true saw blades would overheat and burn the wood.This, larger blade, cuts like butter, quickly and smoothly. GREAT tool!!!

Great product.

I bought a different blade and it broke off and hit me in the face. This blade worked great and cut the notch out of my stud with ease.

Did the trick! Tight fit and plywood required a small saw.

Just what I needed to cut away plywood surrounding pipes on a built-in vanity! I only had inches to maneuver, and a full-size saw wouldn’t fit. Cutting out a “collar” around the pipes kept them safe while Iremoved the rest of the vanity!

So happy to add this to my arsenal of Dremel accessories! I’ve used it much more than I planned or thought I would since receiving it. The EZ lock is a must have now. Soooo much easier to use. This wood cutting wheel works great too. I’ve trimmed wood from ¹⁄₄ inch thick to a 2 inch counter, which I did have to cut from top & bottom. But it did the job in a tight space that I couldn’t use a saw. Highly recommend!

Need somthing that makes your dremel even better buy this!

Works great and much faster cutting than other blades. At first just as I’m sure your thinking why so much for this one vs. Others I see on the site? Well this one is made by dremel the #1of rotary products and great for your dyi kind of people. This product is perfectly balanced and has great bite/edge to the blades that cut right though whatever you throw at it. And they last 10x as others. I tried road 3 dollar mini saw kits on here before i got this and they barley worked compared to this. Came packaged as promised and in new condition. Great product

Always read the directions.

I grabbed this thing out of a large set of Dremel attachments I received as a gift because I needed to grind away the edges of some floor tile in our kitchen. It seemed to take forever, and I was a bit unnerved as the edge of the wheel kept turning bright orange. When I was done, I noted that although the wheel was quite worn down, had several small cracks, and had beaten the hell out of the quick-lock mandrel, it was still in one piece. I was even more impressed that it hadn’t exploded in my face when I discovered that it was intended for cutting WOOD.So if you’re going to use it to cut wood, my guess is it will probably last quite a while.
