Misleading

This item was listed as “reversible” for exhausting a room also! The only exhausting it does is if you take out of the window and reverse it yourself. The wording was mis-leading in their description! It was NOT worth the price.

and sturdy enough not to break when it fell out of …

The fan is quiet, lightweight, and sturdy enough not to break when it fell out of the window, twice. Therein lies the problem. Since it’s reversible, we bought it mostly to use as an exhaust fan in the kitchen, where we have a small double vinyl double-hung window, to push out the hot air and draw in cold air from the other side of the house. In the few seconds it stayed in the window, it seemed to be doing just that. But there was nothing keeping it in the window other than the open window pressing down on it. (There’s no lip as there invariably is on an air conditioner.) So, obeying Newton’s third law of motion (think: jet engine), the force of the air blowing out propelled the fan in the other direction, crashing onto the kitchen floor. After this happened twice, I tried moving it into a larger living room window where I tried to get the expandable baffles to fit behind the window frame. But they wouldn’t stay open; they kept flopping back. So again nothing was going to keep the fan in this window either, and there also wouldn’t be a seal necessary for the exhaust to bring in cold air from elsewhere. You’d think the manufacturer would have tested the fan in an actual window. So it’s going back.

Like a running lawnmower in the house

The fan is really loud. Blades are not 9 inches just the opening is. I regret this purchase, much better fans on the market

not actually reversible

Reversible NOT —-This is not a true Reversible fan —it is a regular fan that you actually have to physically turn around. Dont be fooled —it does not have a reverse switch or control. this is the equivalent to any regular dual blade fan….it is also noisy.

I would’ve loved it if it didn’t have a minor disturbing noise coming from oneof the motors. This is a fan that I dreamed about having because of thecover that comes with it, I use this type of fan in my bedroom window constantlyand I never take it out unless there is a power outage or when it needs cleaningHaving to keep removing it when the power goes out is a real hassle, especiallyin the middle of the night, as you well know that if you shut the fan off it’s like havinga window open, not good. Which made me so happy to see that someone finallycreated a cover that can be put on for these reasons.Besides the minor noise that I could not make stop I also wasn’t to happy with thefan casing having to many openings ( because of the way it’s made for the coverto go on) there are a lot of holes that would allow bugs to find there way in.Without these problems that I listed here, this has the possibility to be a real nice fanand if i wasn’t using it in my bedroom i would’ve kept it, but i needed to make a return
