Encourage a love of science that will last a lifetime
Perform some cool chemistry experiments in your kitchen with the Nancy B. Chemistry Set! Non-consumable, basic chemistry set enables junior chemists to safely explore simple science principles. Extinguish a flame by pouring an invisible gas on it; make your own bubbling ‘lava’ in a bottle; cause chemicals to change color - and more - all while learning basic chemical principals. Set includes essential lab equipment including: beaker, test tubes, goggles, and more. Journal is filled with experiments utilizing common household ingredients PLUS opportunities for young scientists to write, draw, and think about their discoveries. Perfect for STEM learning. Ages 8+.
I’ll admit I was dubious about trying out ANY chemistry kit with my kids–mainly because a) I never was a chemistry whiz myself, and b) my kids are, well … kids. But Nancy B’s kit is the way to go, even if you’re a science novice. The experiments are simple but educational, and the instructions in the lab journal are easy to read. My nine year old (who happened to be home sick and was looking for a diversion) tried out the “Dancing Waters” experiment with me. “Dancing Waters” teaches kids about the connection between molecular activity and water temperature. Sound like a daunting concept? Well, it isn’t really, especially when you’re having fun with food coloring! What’s also nice about the journal is that it includes writing and drawing space for users to record their own observations and provides some basic safety tips that are good practice for experiments that will one day occur in a classroom setting. In addition, the graduated cylinder, beaker, and test tubes are sturdy (a bonus we got to experience firsthand when my three year old interrupted our lab time and knocked a few pieces of equipment on the ground). Also included in the kit are lab glasses, a stirring rod, dropper, funnel, and test tube rack, so kids get a good sense of what a scientist’s toolkit truly looks like. While you’ll have to provide a few of your own supplies (aka, food dye and the like), there’s a good chance that anything that doesn’t come with the kit is something you already have in your pantry. In a word, I would highly recommend this Nancy B product–for kids with an interest in science, kids who are a bit leery of science, and everyone in between!
Hours and hours of play. My granddaughter loves this set

Bought as a Christmas gift. This looks really cool. I just hope it is or, more to the point, that the granddaughter thinks it is.
very good
Every kid should own one. My kids, 3 and 5, LOVE THIS. They play with it all the time. Even if we aren’t doing something out of this book or another science experiment book we…
A perfect fit for a little chemist who is too advanced for the play sets, yet too young for the glass tubes. 10-year old girl LOVES it!

parts were missing and some came broken in package do not reccommend
I thought it pretty neat but it was a gift. Not sure what the child who received it thought.
