I just got this product and found that many of LED lights were not working at all.(I scanned appropriate voltage by changing the voltage from 1.5 to 4.5V, and most of red/green/yellow did not work at all.)So, the quality control of the product might not be good.I might think about returning this and a new one. But I am not sure if the newer one works fine.The package does not have a manual/product description.The website also does not have the information for this product.Since this kind of starter kit is for kids or beginners, this product is not suitable for these users.——————————————-After I wrote this review, the company kindly sent a replacement kit.I appreciate the quick action for this. Now the kids start playing with this.However, as I wrote before, it might be much kind if the product has a simple manual.I put 1 star before but now it is 3-4 star for my review.

More than I expected

There’s a lot of good stuff in this kit. Enough to keep me and my daughter exploring the potential of the Pi for months. For $12, that’s a heck of a good deal. I couldn’t take her to a movie for twice that.Wrecked the power supply module in 30 seconds. Don’t give it more than 7 volts, orit’ll convert to a power passthrough module, which we’ll be using it for now. This was my own fault, so no stars off. I’ll buy another one. Probably a few more. It actually is a cool piece of gear, but better input protection would be good.The breadboard is adorably tiny. I love it. I had no idea they made them that small. Will be using it only for trivial stuff. Another kit we bought has a more serious one.A webpage with component list and specifications would have been helpful though.

Nice assortment

Came exactly as pictured. Buttons work really well. The only thing missing was potentiometer mounting washers, but it did include a nice assortment of resistors. Do be careful to not blow up the LEDs since these are rated 3V max.

Totally lovely kit, perfect for the beginner who wants to knock together a few circuits with their Arduino or Raspberry Pi. It offers one huge benefit to the dabbler over other similar kits: organization.All components are carefully bagged, most of them bagged separately, with combined bags pretty logical (22pf and 104 pf capacitors are in the same bag)Resistors are labelled in a neat hand on their paper strips if you haven’t learned the color codes yet.Transistors and Integrated Circuits are all listed on the little part sheet with their part number, so it’s easy to google them.The cute little box stays shut with a satisfying snap and is secure tossed into a toolbox.A breadboard power supply is included, though as others have noted not required 6-15v input power adapter, These adapters should be widely available. I grabbed a 9v and 12v ac adapter from my local goodwill and it performed beautifully. If you need a full datasheet for this poweradapter, just search the part number ‘545043’ and you can find all the info you’ll need.This is an entirely solderless kit, with all the parts working perfectly with a breadboard.Note that if you’re trying to do hardware hacking with a Raspberry Pi, this kit also includes some socket-to-prong cables, making your life a lot easier when connecting to its onboard pins.While this kit includes every part you might need to do your first hardware hacking, you might consider picking up a cheap multimeter and a few power-supply AC adaptors or battery boxes in addition.READ MORE

Awesome stuff.

Awesome stuff…Only worked half way through it..Bought some purple LED’s so my Daughter would show some interest…And she did once that row of purple LED’s lit up in sequence..Tutorials are great as well. I am off to get the 37 piece sensor kit now…Elegoo rocks! Thank you for making this easy to dive into..

A lot of good pieces to teach simple circuits to children

I wish it came with some project instructions for kids. If it came with a 1000uf capacitor though, it would be more awesome. It’s also inexpensive enough that I can reco it for when kids are ready for something more advanced than the premade, snap-together circuit kits.

Nice collection!

Awesome collection of useful parts for the electronics hobbyist. My only complaint is that, while the resistors of the same value are nicely taped together in groups, their values are hand-written onto the tape and are often difficult to read. I’m too slow at reading resistor color bands, so I use my multimeter to confirm the value when I’m in doubt.

Haven’t tested much out yet than the breadboard, which was OK - but I did get around to needing the “saddle” breadboard power supply today. Fortunately checked it out first - the 3.3v output seems to be fine, but the 5,5V output is not regulating - giving me the power input voltage +/- a little.(tried with both 9V and 12V supplies). Too late to return, so I’ll have to get another one somewhere since I needed both. As a result, not five stars.

Nice kit I wish it had some instructions. I’m new to electronics on I’m not sure what’s what in the kit. I have watched a few videos on youtube that have helpful.
