Great living room projector - highly recommended.
We were looking for a projector to be used in our basement living area which has two large windows and two doors with glass. Besides having plenty of natural light, there are 9 x 65W ‘can’ lights on dimmer. Because of light issue we were gravitating towards getting a 85” TV UHD till we saw Epson 1440 at a friends house and completely fell in love with it. It was super bright but with a draw back that it’s 16:10 format and doesn’t has fixed lens (no horizontal and vertical adjustment) which was a major drawback for us.I researched high and low and narrowed down to Epson 3700, it just got released and has all the features we needed. High 3000 lumen projector with comparatively short throw, 10.5’ for 110” screen. It’s a very good 16:9 format projector with lens adjustment capability for fine tuning to fit the screen. It also has built in speakers good in case you want to use it as a stand-alone projector. 70,000 contrast ratio is very decent as I am using it along a sliver ticket 110” silver grey screen.Attached are few daytime pictures of the projection with blinds open and lights on. NOTICE – there is one light right in front of the projector throw and second light on the screen.Second/third picture with blinds closed but still has lot of ambient light in the room. Complete dark night time movie watching is lot of fun.

I’ve had this projector since December and I can’t say enough about it. This is my first projector. I researched projectors for months before I pulled the trigger on this one. I compared it to the 5030ub and without them side by side you couldn’t tell enough of a difference to justify the extra $600. The built in speakers makes it nice and portable to take outside without lugging around more speakers. They are plenty loud on their own. Anyone wanting to have a nice theater without breaking the bank, this is the way to go.

This is a great projector for this price. We’re very happy with it. It’s a little louder than we expected, but nothing that affects our viewing much.
Updated movie room with new projector
Great projector to replace our old Sony projector (2002). The picture was excellent. My 17 yo son wanted it for the Super Bowl game this Sunday and set it up himself. Looking forward to lots of good family time!

Lens shift option is good one to have
I bought a cheaper BenQ HT2050 first but then exchanged it of this one. Apart from the increased brightness the major advantage of PowerLight 3700 for me was the lens shift.
