The back door only fits Hero 3+ housing which is not specified in the description. So unfortunately this was a must return item.

The extended housing is waterproof and seal nice. The battery life is okay as well

The extended housing is waterproof and seal nice. The battery life is okay as well. Maybe 2.5 to 3 hours. However, I’ve noticed a whining noise every 2 seconds lasting up to 10 seconds on the video. It gets recorded onto the video so it’s pretty annoying to hear over your recording. It practically makes it useless. Who wants to hear a whining noise over what you’ve recorded? I removed this battery pack and recorded something with just the original Gopro battery and no whining, so it’s definitely the battery pack.

While I like that the batteries are larger and work longer than the standard ones it’s about useless to me as the extended cover does NOT fit a GoPro Hero 3. The description says that it does but you get the smaller back cover that fits the 3+, not the larger cover for the original Hero 3.I didn’t realize this till long after buying it or I would have returned it.

Surprise Item, works great.

Just tested this out yesterday, included with a Hero3 Black Battery in my Hero 3 Black Camera. With both Camera and Battery I got this to last for around 2.5 HRS. Then I connected the depleted battery to a USB external Battery and then turned it on and tested it again and with the external battery it went another 2 HRS. Surprised at how well it worked. But because it’s an off brand I would expect the battery at the use I put cameras thru for about 6months-1 year. I usually go thru 3-5 Camera Batteries a year.

Please be advised the back cover doesn’t fit the Hero3. I had to return it.

I’ve tried this battery on a GoPro, 2, 3, & 4; in all cases it causes the camera to appear to start recording but then it locks up & nothing is actually recorded.
