Fintie Fire HD 10 2015 Case - Premium PU…Pro and Cons

I purchased this item towards the end of November, and have had it in use since that time. I am writing this review as a ‘heads-up’ to those of you who are considering the purchase of a protective cover for your Fire HD 10.Pro:It does, indeed, protect the Fire HD 10.Cons:1) The easel function is not well thought out; the tablet slips down both in the portrait and the landscape position, more so in the portrait position.2) The elastic band (which is used to hold the cover securely closed) tends to press against the on/off button with unpredictable results.3) The magnetic switch actuator does its job only too well; not only does it turn the device off when the cover is closed, but it also shuts the device off when the cover is folded back for “book reading”All-in-all, not a good investment.I plan on discarding this case, and will be looking for a better solution. My advice, skip this item and save your money…

Just what I was searching for!!!

Several weeks ago, I purchased a different cover and it protected my new Fire 10 but it would not stay up so I could watch a video while in bed. It’s pretty and protects my Fire but the cover was not able to do what I wanted it to do, so I tried again. This cover has not only a beautiful map motif on it but it can sit on a table by itself so that I can play a game or watch a video. I’m so happy I found this cover, I had to let everyone know about it! It will work for you southpaws as well as we right handed folks. Give it a try. You won’t be sorry.

Pretty Good

The only issue I have with this case is that the tablet would fall out of the grove when I lightly touched the upper side of the tablet when in portrait mode. The solution I came up with was to put the strap over the bottom of the tablet when in portrait mode. It still isn’t a perfect solution, but it does help a lot. I included a picture showing this.

Beautiful

It’s a beautiful cover. The colors are vivid. The Kindle snaps nicely in place and feels secure. The portrait view is not the best and I doubt that having the rotating feature will be of any real use. This was a feature I was really looking for based on my experience with the 8.9 Kindle. However, the size of the 10 seems to make having a portrait view in a cover impracticable. All ports and functions are unimpeded by the case. The cover has a loop for a stylus that I doubt I will ever use but seems to function just fine and does no interfere with the use of the Kindle. The strap to secure the cover closed is just a black band. I never used this on my previous cover and don’t expect to really use it on this one. Folding the cover back for reading is a little bulky but I think the cover is still very stiff and I suspect that it will flatten better with use.I ordered this cover for two reasons. The first was the rotating function, which turns out to be unnecessary. The second was for the look and It exceeded by exceptions.

Nicely made and cute!

This case is cute! It was a little more than I wanted to spend on a case, but it is well made. I love that it looks like a Composition Book and it gets a giggle from people when they realize what it really is. This case is a little thicker than my previous case so my new, slim, Fire HD 10.1” isn’t that slim anymore. But, it’s just the design of the case. The stand on the one side adds some width and the other side of the cover has to be thicker to create the grooves that the Kindle sits in so it stands up. I really like that the stand rotates, so I can stand the Kindle horizontally or vertically. Most of the time it will be horizontal, but I often use it vertical when I’m following a recipe from a magazine on the Kindle. The only downfall is because of the shape of the cover, it doesn’t always trigger the auto sleep/wake feature. That’s just a minor inconvenience.

Do not buy!

The grooves that are suppose to hold the tablet in place at different angles are not deep enough, so it slips out constantly in horizontal mode.When tilting in vertical mode, the grooves don’t hold the table at a vertical angle at all, again because the grooves are not deep enough. So the ability to flip from horizontal to vertical is useless. When in Vertical mode you have to hold it with your hand. Very disappointed with the design of this product and how the description of the product is misleading.

Ability to ROTATE: Not a novelty, but a very practical feature.

This is a case of functionality and simple elegance:PROS:* Rotating the Kindle gives one the option of “relocating” the volume control buttons from lower left to upper right (I’m right-handed).* Auto-sleep and wake-up feature works as advertised.* The ability to change viewing angle by simply reseating the Kindle upon one of two slots – simple! No need to fold, twist, or manipulate as you would with other cases.CONS:* Case is secured by a black band which is the weakest link to the product as it will wear and eventually breakFor the value, the functionality, and the simplicity, this case is exceptional.

Would like a different fastener though

This case is not only attractive but it is more versatile than some others I’ve used. Would buy another when this one wears out. Would like a different fastener though.
