Unfortunately, If I want to watch anything on Amazon video, I have to use the speakers in my TV because the signal comes through the internet wireless pipeline on my home “Theater” & not through the cable’s TV signal. If I want to run the sound through my stereo, and therefor routed to all the speakers in my living room, the sound signal has to go “Backwards” from the TV, into the stereo amplifier. I have a 2016 Samsung TV, and it has this “One cable” gizmo that has an “Optical Sound Out’ outlet in the single-cable box & I learned that this was for connecting a sound bar to your TV. I discovered that I needed a special Optical-Sound cable to connect the box for the TV to my amplifier for the video system. Since the distance from the one-cable box to my amplifier is very short (maybe a foot), I wanted a cable that was short And flexible, because it would be routed through the cable protector (a round white tube that you’d expect to see on a car stereo system), and it would go through the back of the rack that holds all of the home theater components.This cable is just long enough to reach the back of my amplifier without leaving a bunched-up mess behind the rack, and it’s extremely flexible. This fiber-optic cable works so well, I’m going to get one for my Daughter so I can hook up a soundbar to her TV, and maybe add one to the TV in my bedroom [since they’re all the same TV]. Definitely worth the money. Nice, easy transaction that arrived right on time (2 days).

I bought two of these to go with another one that is 6 ft. and a 3 to 1 splitter switch. These are very well made and durable. I love that the end caps are tethered to the cables as well.I always like well constructed products and these FosPower Optical (SPDIF) cable are certainly well put together. The sound coming through them is crystal clear and has good fidelity - exactly what I wanted. Good Quality Cable
FosPower cable is a robust cable….. your getting what U pay for. Its a quality stiffer cable assembly, that’s a GOOD thing with optical cables. Cheaper cables tend to be very flexible and run the risk of kinking. Once a optical cable is kinked, the signal loss is extremely high making the cable pretty much useless.
Made a dumb move and purchased this item from a local store …
Made a dumb move and purchased this item from a local store because I was so anxious to hook them up to my recently purchase of a beautiful Sony TV. Paid $17.00 for them and then I looked at Amazon and found these which are by far a much better product for only $8.00. This is what you get when you rush into a purchase before you do some research. I hooked them up on Saturday (7⁄22) and I’m now enjoying the full range of my 5.1 surround sound as I play my video games as well as watch movies. Also, the uniqueness of this chord allows me to identify it in the event I have to do something with the connections on the back of my TV. The crystal clear clarity of the sound of shattering glass almost makes me turn around and look behind me when I know its coming from the TV.Thank you gents/ladies for taking the time to read this review and I do hope it is helpful.
Not the cheapest option, but you get what you pay for.
I’m not much of an audio guy. I’m an average consumer needing to plug an xbox into a surround sound system. With that said this cable does what it needs to. One nice touch is the little caps over the optical part are attached to the sleeve. So when you want to store the cable you can keep the sensitive parts covered. The build quality feels like it will last a long time. I don’t think I’ll have to purchase a replacement in my lifetime.
Great quality cable
I bought this to feed audio from my PC to my receiver, replacing 1⁄8” plug to RCA cables. I use an Onkyo TX-NR609 with two Monitor 40’s and two Monitor 30’s. I am pleased with the audio quality, but it was not a significant improvement from my prior setup, but it did provide an improvement.The quality of this cable was very surprising; I think I could use it to repel from a cliff if pressed. Given this, it is a thick cable (similar to RG6 cable size), which may be an issue if snaking through wall plates; however, this was not a consideration for me.After a few months going, I have had no issues with this cable. It has been a plug-and-forget audio component for me.

The product works great. I putchased a new Samsung Smart TV and have an 8 year old Yamaha Stereo system. The new TV only has an optical plug. In the past I used the red and white connectors and wasn’t sure I would be able to connect to the stereo receiver. I found I did have an optical connection on the stereo receiver so decided to order the FosPower cord. The cord arrived in a day. I had a problem when I first connected the cable but discovered that my stereo receiver has two places for an optical plug and I was using the wrong one. I finally got the correct one connected and the sound is great.

I have a simple Sony sound system that I was going to replace because I didn’t think the quality of the the sound was very good. I read a review of this optical cable on Amazon saying it improved the quality of the sound on someone else’s lackluster system and the difference was remarkable…well I’m keeping my system…with this new optical cable…my system is everything I hoped it could be…perfect for my needs…If you are not sure…just get it…you will be overwhelmed with the difference this cable makes in sound systems. And the price is amazing for the quality of this cable..very heavy cable with a woven outer wrapping…very very nice…..
