With Fotasy Premier Lens Cleaning Cloth
Size:2X | Style:for Sony NEX 2x Rear Lens Cover + Camera Body Cap Set & Cleaning Cloth for Sony E-Mount NEX Mirror less Camera
I left a rear lens cap to one of my lenses on a mountain trail somewhere years ago. Ever since then, I’ve been one cap shy of a full camera bag. I looked into buying a new one and it was like $7.99. But here are five, and you get both a rear lens cap and a camera body cover, times five! Great deal! The body covers fit great. The rear lens covers worked best on the EF-S lenses. Not so much on the L-Series lenses. On the L-Series lenses, these covers barely twist on at all. After buying this set, I turned around and bought one of the $7.99 rear lens covers. It had the Canon logo and it fits the L-Series lenses perfectly.
One of these days I’m going to start a blog just called “Where the @%$& are my lens caps?!??“I mean, I don’t know what it is. I show up to shoot a wedding. I take the cap of the back of a lens, or the cover off the front. I LITERALLY SET IT IN MY CAMERA BAG! And when I come back to switch lenses…POOF!! Gone!I don’t know. Maybe there’s some sort of spacial displacement field in my camera bag and now someone somewhere in the world, probably some random tourist in Germany, is finding their own camera bag inexplicably filled with caps. Your guess is as good as mine.Anyway, the point being, I need to replace caps. So I picked these up. The camera caps are kind of overkill, since I have plenty of those. And that’s sort of a shame, because it’s actually those caps that work the best. I’ve found that the actual back of the lens caps really don’t fit all that well. They don’t really twist lock on like OEM caps. For me it’s not a huge deal, because my lenses all live in the bag, so the cap is just a safeguard. Besides, I’ll probably lose these anyway within a few weeks worth of weddings and be looking for other replacement options…
I recently lost the body cap for my Sony a6000 and needed a new cap. Although I only needed the body cap the Fotasy Rear Lens Cover & Camera Body Cap Set for Sony NEX E-Mount Cameras, that includes both body cap and rear lens cap in a set, being offered as five (5) pairs/sets for only $8.29 (the price on Amazon at the time of my order) was just too good a deal to pass up. Fits just like the OEM caps. Some people seem to have a misunderstanding of Sony lens caps. The rear body caps will only seal snugly when fitted to the lens in the correct orientation. If you don’t then the cap will seem loose when you twist it to be tight. These cap sets are a solid value. RECOMMENDED.
Let’s not prevaricate here… These are CHEAP.Compared to the caps that cost 5 bucks each, these things are thin, aren’t especially well molded and have some pretty major issues. Case in point: The lens end cap I literally had to cut off of my T-ring.Most of these things twist to a point and then untwist relatively easily, usually the same amount of twist as a lens going on a camera. These caps can easily jam on application if you expect that much of a twist to be secure. It stops about half way and if any further pressure is applied to get it to go the distance a lens would go (or an end-cap for a lens), it will get stuck. It took a razor saw to remove it from the T-ring on the 2X adapter for my 500mm lens.It was, to say the least, disappointing. The body caps don’t seem to have the same problem, but the lens end caps have to be handled with exceptional care for these to work (and not jam). With the poor quality of casting to these, though, it would be a good idea to handle them with care when putting them on or taking them off regardless of which (lens or camera) you’re applying it to.That’s the down side to these. They are cheaply made and can mess up your lenses, and potentially your camera body.On the bright side, as long as you don’t expect too much from them, don’t twist very hard once resistance is met and remember which way to twist to take it off, they do stay in place and do protect the camera body as well as the lens when it’s stored. They’re not high-quality, but at this price, they’re not going to be. If you have the need for all five of these sets, you might want to get two sets of them just so that if (or when) you find yourself reaching for the razor saw and magnifying glasses, you have spares ready to go.I wouldn’t recommend these for exceptionally expensive lenses, though. Pros will want to find something more forgiving and better fitting. It’d be a shame to have to cut off one of these things, and possibly ruin an expensive lens, because of a two-bit cap. I was fortunate I could remove the T-ring from the adapter without damaging it. The cap was, to say the least, destroyed. In the future, I’ll use a heated wire to do the job to avoid having plastic “saw dust” fall into the back of the lens.So proceed with caution. If you’re careful, these will work. If not, well, a hot wire will melt the plastic without shedding a lot of plastic bits into your lens.
These are well made inexpensive plastic covers for storing your lens separately or the camera body w/o lens, sort of an obviously needed part if one carries spare lenses. I am using these on Sony e mount adapters - fit perfectly and appear to seal well but only provide a plastic to metal seal which is sufficient for my use for impact protection. If you are storing in a dusty or windy environment, you may need to find a cover with a dustproof seal..
What can one say except for they’re caps and they fit. If you’re like me and buy lots of vintage lense to use on the a7 series cameras, which means owning a couple different adapters, than these are a great investment. The last thing anyone wants is dust getting into the lens/adapter, thus getting onto the sensor. They seem a little pricey considering they’re just caps, and lens caps with little springy tabs cost less (but take more to make), but it is what it is.As for the microfiber towel, I never use these cheap free ones, but it looks usable.
The lens rear caps are excellent. The camera body cover - not so much. The plastic isn’t properly extruded to fit a micro 4⁄3 body - I own a Panasonic GH3, GH4, and an Olympus…
works as expected
The Sony e-mount version is good quality and fits well on the a6000 and 16-50 lens.
Fits well at a good price.
Works for me
Just what I needed

VERY tight fit for my AE-1, but they get the job done.
