An indispensable accessory for taking video on the Sony a6000. The remote effectively initiates recording as well as the zoom function while taking video. This is invaluable due to the awkward placement of the Video Record button on the a6000, one of it’s few flaws. This well priced remote solves the problem extremely effectively. Is also versatile and can be used with other cameras due to its versatile connection adapter.

Bad Record Button…Twice.

Well, I probably would have liked this, if it worked. But it didn’t, so I don’t. I replaced my first one that was fully functional except for the Record button (the main reason I purchased it) and got a second one that had the exact same problem. I have 3 different compatible cameras and neither of them worked. Usually Fotga is a good low cost option, but in this case, I am nothing but disappointed.

I bought this remote control for my Sony FDR-53AX camcorder …

I bought this remote control for my Sony FDR-53AX camcorder. It works reasonably well with the video mode but does not work with photo. It can turn camcorder on/off, start/stop video recording and do two-speed zoom in/out. One issue as pointed out by another reviewer about the zoom speeds for the FDR-AX33 model, the slow speed is a bit too slow but acceptable to me for very smooth zooming, while the high speed is too fast for most occasions so I rarely use it. It does most the job I want, and for the money, it is well worth it.

Works great with Sony FDR-AX100 and FDR-AX33

Works great on my Sony FDR-AX100 and FDR-AX33 without the extra adapter cable. All I need is to power it on (slide-switch on side), zoom and start/stop recording, which is perfect when I have it mounted up high for back-of-house shots, or on a tripod to zoom in/out without jostling the camera. It’s actually better than using the “play memories mobile” app (which I use as a monitor).

Works very well for occassional use.

Works very well with the RX10 Mk II. Certainly cheaply made - the power switch seemed to be broken/seized out of the package, but after rocking it back and forth a number of times, it freed up. If you need remote on/off, video start/stop and zoom controls for the RX10, and you won’t be beating it up daily, then this is the best game in town.

Work well with the Sony RX-10 II. The shutter release button has a good feel for focusing and release. The video button stops working and you have to unplug the remote to reset it. The video button is also recessed too much and is somewhat difficult to use.

Great Remote For the Bargain Hunter

I took points off for it not having a long enough cord for my purposes. The pros, however, far outweigh that one little con. You can actually turn th camera off and on with it. This is helpful in cases where the camera has gone into “sleep” mode while you’re adjusting the scene, or in my case, waiting for the humming bird to come back. The remote’s power is fed from the camera so it uses no batteries. This CAN be a drain on the camera’s battery, however, I have not found that to be the case. The biggest pro is the price break from the more expensive Sony model. Very happy with this purchase.

EXCELLENT. Buy this it’s quality!

I was skeptical. However it arrived very well packaged and upon taking it out I find it to be all the quality I could ask for. Tested it with my sony rx10. Worked perfect. This is a nice piece of gear and worth getting to save over sony’s version which is almost 2x the price.
