Design Fail
This mount does not work as advertised at all.The receiving end of the mount has a threaded leg to receive the GoPro bolt. However, this will never provide enough grip to actually hold your GoPro in place. The original GoPro Tripod Mount design (and all other mounts) use a receiver hex bolt to tighten the connection, this product does not provide a recess position for the hex nut. Additionally adding a hex nut will not work since the bolt will have already passed through the threaded leg… Very poor design. Do not recommend at all! Stay clear of this product and just purchase the official GoPro Tripod Mount (which is a lower price anyway!)READ MORE
Metal Tripod Mount is wrong design
The manufacturer points out that it is made of aluminum and will withstand “Wear and Tear” better than a plastic mount. This is true. The problem is that the aluminum is too stiff to bend and hold the GoPro camera mount securely. How much use will it get if you can’t tighten the bolt and clamp enough to hold the camera mount tightly? Plastic works and this metal one doesn’t work. Too bad I didn’t read the negative reviews before I bought the Fotodiox GT. I will order the GoPro tripod mount like I should have in the first place.READ MORE

Too smooth (not the good kind of smooth)
The powder coated finish is so smooth, it’s impossible to lock the camera’s position. Also, the bottom of the mount is smooth as well. Most tripods have a rubber pad, so this isn’t horrible, but it would have been nice if the bottom had been knurled before powder coating. I’d recommend looking for a similarly-priced mount with a rougher surface instead.READ MORE

Cannot tighten it enough
As others have said, you cannot tighten this enough. I got it really tight one time, took it in the water and it still moved. I could barely get it off without pliers, now it sits in the junk drawer.READ MORE

This tripod adapter works great when combined with GorillaPod-like tripods. It allows you to easily and temporarily attach your GoPro to nearly anything.The quality of the adapter seems standard. I don’t have any concerns of it breaking and it fit perfectly. It doesn’t stand out, but doesn’t disappoint.Overall, I’d say this is a must-have for any GoPro owner.READ MORE
