Circuit breaker
15 foot power cord
The same week I bought this to add to a mobile AV setup the surge protector in our small conference room died due to being dropped and banged around too many times so the Furman ended up there. This unit looks and feels professional, and thanks to the long cable it can be out of the way or in the middle of the conference table when needed. I took off 1 star because all outlets face the same way
Someone told me once: “Buy the best surge protector as you can afford”. Surge protectors come in prices ranging from cheap to expensive. I recommend the Furman M-8Dx power conditioner for a home theater. Then use this 6-plug surge protector for other things. Think about what you are plugging into the wall. How much do you want to protect it? The only thing I plug directly into a wall are lamps and alarm clocks. I also bought this surge protector for my sister who lives in a very old house. Furman has a good reputation. This is what they do.
The item is working well. I would recommend this time to anyone who respects their music gear…this item is used on a daily basis in my recording studio.
I now have 4 of these in use for live audio setup. The best selling point is the super long heavily shielded cord that can easily reach anywhere on stage. The EMI/RFI filtering, although basic, does help. I’m had wireless receivers experience little distortions and sound artifacts. After plugging them into one of these the problem is gone. Considering how closely these are priced to other power strips, this is a no brainer
Very well made and trustworthy. Furman has been a long standing industry standard for good reason. I’ve been gigging for 10 years and wish I had this a long time ago. I have noticed a medium reduction in hum and noise in my guitar rig since using this instead of a homedepot garden variety power strip. “Clean” power is essential to prolonging the life of your gear. I recommend this or any other Furman product.
Received the 2-surge strips that I ordered for my ham radio shack. These are very good quality strips. They are constructed of metal not cheap plastic. The receptacles installed in the units are very good quality as well. These professional quality surge strips also filter rfi energy as well as diverting electrical spikes away from your sensitive electronic equipment. There is also a circuit breaker built in to prevent overloads. As an electrician and an avid electronics person I highly recommend these strips for your needs!Highly Recommend!!
I bought this power strip to gig with, and since I had already owned rack mounted Furman power products that worked well this one seemed like the logical choice. Well the first one arrived with the lighted rocker switch smashed in so it was rattling around inside the case. No big deal, I got in touch with Amazon and they shipped a replacement with no headache. The replacement arrived and seemed fine. Not more than a few gigs in I noticed that one of the power outlets on the unit was cracked. Not a show stopper, as the outlet still works and there are 5 others to choose from even if it didn’t, but the moral of the story here is that anything on this unit not made of steel seems overly fragile. This is not what I would expect of a Furman product. My gear doesn’t get drop kicked or punished, but for the price I would at least like something that is a little more rugged. As someone else pointed out, this isn’t a power conditioner or anything like that, it’s just a power strip so with things cracking and breaking I don’t see how this is any better than something I can get from another manufacturer for half the price. Side note: The advertised “EMI/RFI Noise attenuation” doesn’t seem to be doing much of anything either.PROS: Long cord & steel body.CONS: Anything on this unit not made of steel (rocker switch, receptacles, etc.) seems a whole lot more fragile than it ought to be.BOTTOM LINE: It’s still working and I’m still using it (thus 3 stars), but if it got stolen I wouldn’t bother buying another one.
Cannot use with more than three AC adapters (e.g. 9 volt “wall warts” for effects pedals). Poor design. They should have either spaced the outlets more or oriented the rows of three in opposing directions).
great product
Ordered this for a new salt water tank installed today. However, when I turned on the power, only two of the six outlets worked. Hopefully, the other one I ordered works.
This was to replace an ISOBAR that was lost. Very solid, and the 12 ft cable is a life saver!
Excellent quality. Spacing of outlets is wide enough to use some A/C adapters side by side.
Great buy at $27.00 highly recommended
Super heavy duty is a good description of this surge protector. The metal housing adds a good weight and superior feel compared to the plastic ones we are all familiar with.
The only one to get
Great for keeping wires tidy and well made.
Immediately noticed less speaker line noise. Great investment.Have yet to have a power surge to deal with but the sturdy construction makes me feel safe if one happens.
comments powered by Disqusthe first two outlets move, because they are unhinged/ unseated
