Not Up to Garmin Standards

The camera has failed twice and after a couple days started working (see video). So, I’m not confident that it will be recording when I need it to be recording. It also generates weird routes compared to my other three Garmins. I’ve tried the various routing settings and the only go from weird to weirder. Also, as others have mentioned the voice recognition is poor and not as good as it could be. My two other Garmins with voice control are better at that too. It’s a pretty expensive product for all the shortcomings.

Great Combo Unit

Recently used the nuviCam on a 6 week road trip and it worked fantastic. It was great as we used it in severla National Parks and seeing the wildlife and other sights preserved, when we were unable to get a camera out and readey was great. The GPS worked exceptionally well.

A Software Flaw that Garmin Chooses Not to Address

There is a major software design flaw with this class (larger screen) of Garmin GPS units. During regular navigation with Map View, all the Saved Places (or called Favorites by Garmin before) are displayed on the map with big hearts. These big hearts populate the map display blocking the display of the roads (please see attached photograph). There is no way to turn this Saved Places display at all based on Garmin customer support. I have to return this unit and avoid buying Garmin with this design flaw. Frankly this is a simple software issue that Garmin programmers can easily resolve (by addiing an option to enable/disable displaying Saved Places icons). Yet, Customer Support chooses the easy way out by saying there is no such option.I have owned about 10 Garmin GPS units so far, and none of the previous ones I have show this problem. So, the new Garmin developers didn’t notice this issue, and the Customer Support people do not even want to alert them on this slight improvement that they can make or fix (since the old units do not have this problem).
