Just what I was looking for.

I was looking for a case to put my Nuvi 2597LMT in when I wasn’t using it, and this Garmin Universal 5-Inch Soft Carrying Case was just what I was looking for. The case is really a very lightweight pouch that the GPS slides into. It fits my 2597LMT perfectly. The GPS slides in and out easily, and protects the screen from scratches. It’s also thick enough for bumps and minor drops. There is no room for any accessories, but I wasn’t looking for any. I only want to protect the GPS. I have no complaints at all, and it was well worth the $9 it cost me.

Perfict fit for the Nuvi 2597LMT

Exactly what I was looking for in a case (more like a pouch) and snuggly fits the Nuvi 2597LMT. Because it’s a pouch, it’s not intended to hold the cable or the mount. I’m not sure why anyone would complain about the $8.99 price.

Great Size, Easy to Carry

Got the Garmin 5”-6” case, but too big & bulky. This 5” soft case is perfect size. Gives some padding to the Garmin when I take it out of the car so it is not a target. Padding is light, but should do okay if dropped. I would have given it a 5-star rating, but t is open on one end so it could slip out. Would have been nice with a secure flap with either a snap or loop.

Great for the 3590

The Garmin 3590 5in Nuvi fits in this case perfectly. The Nuvi slides in all the way so its completely covered on 3 sides (the nuvi slides in all the way so the 4th side is not covered but not exposed either. It’s snug enough that it will not fall out on its own and offers good cushioning and protection. I put the Nuvi, window mount and power cable together in another bag so it was important to have a low profile slip case for the nuvi.

Not Suitable for Purpose Advertised

Nicely made soft case … too bad my Garmin Nuvi57 doesn’t fit into it … DUH !

Fits my Garmin GPS perfectly and keeps it safe when out of the car.

Holds my nuvi 1490 and 1450 well; also my 3590.

After reading a review that this item would NOT fit a garmin 1490 (as I’d hoped) I decided to buy it for use with my Garmin 3590. It does fit the 3590 well enough but is a little looser than I’d like; if you inadvertently hold the case with the open end down the 3590 doesn’t actually slide out but it doesn’t feel very secure either. HOWEVER, it DOES fit my 1490 very well indeed; the 1490 slides in easily enough and also doesn’t feel as it it would slide out if inadvertently picked up with the open end down. (It also fits the 1450). I wouldn’t recommend it for situations where impact to the screen is a concern since this is basically a neoprene sleeve.

Overpriced for a vinyl “pocket protector” soft carrying sleeve, not a case. Not much protection other than scratch resistance and the one, unsecured open end concerns me that the Garmin device is liable to fall out and be damaged when being retrieved from glove box or console compartment or especially when transporting from car to motel room. I will replace this sleeve with a more secure case and dispose of this sleeve. Live and learn.

Nice soft sided case to protect the unit while in the glove box. I would have liked a strap or something to go over the open end so the GPS cannot fall out though.
