Use the USB and 12V ports at the same time. The Nomad 7 will split the incoming solar power between the two ports to charge devices simultaneously (Some devices may not be compatible)
Style:Nomad 7 The Nomad 7 is an ultra lightweight, portable and weather-resistant solar panel that enables you to charge handheld USB/12V gear directly from the sun. Use a Goal Zero portable power pack and store power for your gear day or night.
I just got home from a month of remote travel, with VERY high praise for the new 11800 Nomad V2.I exclusively used it to charge our GPS, cellphones, digital cameras, and Kindle Paperwhite. It packs down safely very fast, and deploys effortlessly in any scenario.A big ziploc bag allowed charging sensitive items literally out in the rain; While some days i hiked wearing my Nomad across my back, etc.It took a beating, worked flawlessly, and simply never disappointed.
I had to return it as it failed to charge my Nexus 6 smartphone.
Great product. I used it to charge my phone on top of a mountain. It is rugged. It rode in a backpack full of mountaineering hardware. When I took it out to use it, I propped it up on a log using its built-in kick stand. My phone charged quickly in the September sun at 3 in the afternoon at 8,500 feet.
This is a great product. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was the carabiner clips broke on my first trip, and also because it needed some really bright and continuous sunlight to charge my Galaxy S7 adequately. I was hoping I could just clip it on my pack and it would work, but you really need to be somewhere that you can set it in direct sunlight for a long duration of time to charge adequately. Cloudy and overcast days are not very good if you expect to get a decent charge for your devices.
Very handy- charges quickly and folds down small enough to fit along side a laptop, in the laptop section of a backpack, brief case, purse etc. worth every penny for the piece of mind it provides in a pinch- we will defiantly be bringing it along on family outings from now on!
Was just what was needed for traveling and camping
I purchased this in advance of a spring/summer-time full of camping. I have already lent it out to several friends who have now bought there own. This is an amazing brand, that delivers. Beware of cheaper competitors on Amazon. The campers next to us at Coachella were charging off our bad all weekend, after spending half the price for some piece of $*** “solar” panel nearly twice the size.
Ive used this so many times while out backpacking, camping…its amazing I can charge my gadgets while out in the bush with this. It works great, compact/ish size…fits well in my backpack
worked only the first time.
Finally, the second version worked. But it only delivers 4W at full sun. I only use it for my kindle so I’m ok with it.
Did not work at all. Sent it to a friend affected by the hurricanes. Very disappointing
This was probably the best thing I carried in my rucksack when I went climbing in the Himalayas. It’s light, effective and saved me a bunch of money and stress charging my phone…
I used it one day at home to test it and it worked great. Then trekked in the Himalayas, literally can’t get closer to the sun, we had beautiful blue skies most of the mornings…
Worked great.
Nice revision to their earlier model, this Nomad 7 Plus has a rear pouch that doubles as a stand. While solar panels without a stand are only a minor inconvenience, not having to…
Worked great for what we needed extra light was nice as well
I received model that didn’t work at all because of some defect. Luckily, Goal Zero sent my replacement. I can’t recommend for any long term trip. Output is just too small.
comments powered by DisqusWorks great, charged my phone slowly but I bought the battery pack and it charges that much faster, and the battery pack also charges the phone faster than directly from the panel.
