I’ve been using this Godox flash for just under a week now and I really love it. If you want the quick version of this review, go buy it. A+Long version:This was my first foray into the Godox system. In the past I’ve used Yongnuo, Neewer, and formerly Canon 580 and 420 series (I used to shoot with the 5D3 and 1D series). The two former were manual setups, but worked reasonably well when I needed it (with the hassles of manual setup). The canon worked well, but I’m primarily in the Sony system now… When I heard about the TT350S, I knew this was for me because of the size and the capability!Size: When I put this up against the Neewer TT560, I have to say it’s night and day. The TT560 is about 60% heavier (Batteries installed, weighing in at 9oz for the Godox and 15oz for the Neewer). On my Sony A6300 the Godox feels balanced, and just right.I’ve used the flash both indoors and outdoors and it’s plenty powerful to light up my subjects and the TTL metering seems to do a great job. Cycle time seems very reasonable for a two AA battery flash (much quicker than I thought it could).Accessories: Mine came with the bottom stand, a stofen like omnibouncer, carrying case, a bunch of gels and a gel holder kit. I haven’t used the gels yet, but the velcro system to hold the gels looks like it’ll do the job just fine. The omni bounce works great, and love the color I get out of the photos.Usage: I’ve used it in both TTL and manual, and it works great. The menus are SUPER easy to navigate. I tried FEC (flash exposure compensation) settings on the camera and they work perfectly with the TTL. High speed sync works great too.I haven’t tried to pair this up with the Godox transmitter yet as I don’t own one yet, but will try soon as it seems like a great system to invest the money in. Very impressed with the setup and really happy with my purchase. I will probably buy a second to work as a TTL slave.Easy A+!
This is my first off camera flash and couldn’t be happier. Flash was delivered quickly and with free shipping to boost. It fits my a6000 very nicely, since it uses 2 AA batteries, it is not very heavy and the camera feels quite balanced. You can see the from the attached pictures of the TT350S with my a6000 and SEL35F18. I can’t imagine using a larger flash on this camera, as it would just seem too big.The flash is quite powerful indoors and outdoors in shaded areas, however it is not powerful enough to overpower the sun at noon, for that, you will need a much more powerful flash/strobe. This flash works well in the evening, and is much more powerful that the on-camera flash (maybe 2-3x?). I have used the flash in manual mode, however it takes some time to get used to it as it is very powerful. It is best to start off at 1⁄2 power and then work from that, if used at full power you will have to wait like 2 seconds for the flash to recharge and you may temporarily blind your subject. Or else you can simply use it in TTL mode and it will adjust the power automatically for you!I have tried the flash with my friend’s X1T-S TTL trigger and it is really awesome. I have taken pictures at full speed on the a6000 (1⁄4000) and the flash works great, both in TTL and manual mode. It takes some patience to set it up the first time, but the key is ensuring they are both on the same channel. In the flash manual mode, you change the settings on the transmitter and it reflects the changes on the TT350S immediately. I am happy that I now have a Godox flash and is compatible with other units and triggers and I can slowly expand my system as needed. The flash itself includes a built in white bounce card that hides within the flash as well as a flip down diffuser which is really neat. The bonus gels included from this seller are great, however I haven’t tried them out yet. I look forward to specially using the orange/gold colored ones, as I have used bounce cards with the on camera flash for baby pictures and really like the artificial sunlight effect.
Just received my new external flash. It took some time, but it was worth the wait. I was kinda skeptical with the company I ordered it from since it’s from outside the US. However, they were one of the first to have this external flash available on amazon. I’ve been looking around and debating on getting the bigger version. I’m glad I didn’t and I got this instead. Size is perfect. Not too big and powerful enough to produce good lighting. The company was awesome. The seller answered all my questions and provided me information that I needed. Overall it was great doing business with them and it’s a great product to have.
It’s okay for the Sony A6000 but be aware that this flash consumes battery power as it only takes 2ea AA batteries. It will control all of the Godox 2.4 strobes and flash though. Nice Fill flash!!
So good the HSS!! Go for it
Excellent size for my Sony a6000 and working off camera with my Godox commander or as a slave.
I have not had the time to test it in all condition, especially as a fill flash and the TTL functions appear OK but I do not see the sync as well as with a SONY flash
great small flash. TTL works fine, recycle is good. Its small and balances nicely on Sony A7II. Good product,
Good build quality. Will update the review when I have some experience with it.
So far a great fit for my Sony A7s and a6500. The compact size/output for it’s size are great and you get TTL and HSS and a whole bunch of features!
Love this flash! So handy for OCF!
Great fit for my sony!
Great flash. Poor QC. First time I’ve used the internal diffuser now autozoom gets stucked at 14mm. No matter what I did or how many times pulled in pulled out the diffuser, still…
