This is the flash system my Sony A6000 was waiting for.

I waited quite a while to get an external flash for my Sony A6000. I wanted something that would work with the TTL exposure system of the Sony, would have full features (such as high speed sync), and would not overpower the small size of the camera itself. This flash provides all of that, plus the built in 2.4G wireless feature allows it to do full TTL off camera flash and even TTL with multiple flash units. The only thing it does not do is act as a commander flash to do TTL off camera flash with other Sony compatible units. However, that feature is not really needed because of the built in 2.4G capability, which achieves the same TTL ability and actually is more flexible. I bought two of these flashes and the X1T-S wireless trigger. I tested all of the features and everything works exactly as advertised. I’ve used the units for over 5 months and all works well. Besides the TTL capability, the manual control and optical slave capability makes these very flexible. The flashes, the transmitter, and even the cases and diffuser all have a high quality feel and appearance, nothing looks cheap even though the price is quite reasonable. The manual is quite clear. Two features perhaps not well documented that I found a present surprise: 1) If I set the camera shutter speed to a high shutter speed (say ¹⁄₁₀₀₀ sec) the flash automatically switches into HSS mode. 2) If I set the camera to high speed continuous shooting (say 11 fps) the flash automatically switches to strobe mode and flashes in time with the shutter. This is one smart system - as smart as my camera, which is saying quite a lot. And, if you need more flashes, Godox now offers an entire range of flashes up to studio units, and they will all talk to this flash and can be used together. I recommend them highly.

Great flash at a great price - love these units.

Love these flashes, have not had any problems, very reliable operation on a Sony A7rII. They are small and slim enough to be very portable. Have not had any problems and there are no negatives I can think of. Great upgrade from the Sony HVL F43M flash I used before. Works great as a dedicated on-camera flash with reliable TTL operation. Love the radio wireless capability and the fact that can use as wireless master or slave, including in optical mode. Highly recommend these, great value for the price. Bought another one and the wireless transmitter for additional flexibility.

Hands down best system for mirrorless set-up

Shocked at how much I love this flash and system. It is the perfect size for the a6500 or other mirrorless cameras. It is dumb simple to use - perfect for beginners BUT powerful enough (in both output and features) for professionals. It does not lack any functionality one would use often.I especially like the idea that Godox makes a whole line if products that work together (and also compatible with other brands’ products). The system will grow with you

Amazing purchase just what I needed

Poor quality control

Great flash. Poor QC. First time I’ve used the internal diffuser now autozoom gets stucked at 14mm. No matter what I did or how many times pulled in pulled out the diffuser, still stucked. Proceed to disassembly it. There’s a small switch inside that is not making correct contact. No more godox for me
