Great Protection for Your GoPro
I’ve already dropped my GoPro several times and this protects your camera on all sides. I like the blackout housing over the other options because I still dream of becoming a ninja one day and if I finally pursue my dreams, I’d like to have a camera that matches my outfit.
Eliminate those red LED reflections with this blackout case
I bought this because I noticed when taking pictures through a piece of glass or plastic I would get 1 to 3 reflections of the red LED lights. The blackout housing covers all of the LEDs (and also comes with a set of stickers to cover the front LCD screen if you really want to). It comes with a solid back door, a clear panel back door, and a skeleton back door. (But not the larger battery back door, apparently - not being the owner of an actual larger battery, I cant say for sure) It has the same standard GoPro mount tabs on the bottom, and comes with one of the slide-on action clip mounts too. Finally, the front rectangular lens mount is identical to the clear case, so if you bought a polarizing filter you can use it on this case as well. This case has allowed me to get video clips and static shots without the LED light reflections that the clear case can allow.
Not as advertised.
This was sold through Amazon by 6ave. It is claimed to be the official GoPro housing. The item I received was in a plastic bag. The hard case had the pad that secures the GoPro in the wrong place (the middle of the screen, rather than in the top and bottom like the version that comes with the Hero Silver. It did not have the skeleton and touch background.

Slick and great quality. Seems like same material as original. Only thing I would say is the Waterproof case with this is a completely solid black piece with nothing to see through. If you have a GoPro 4 Silver the screen is no longer use’able so you will need to use the clear housing for waterproof if you wish to view the screen. I believe another reviewer posted an image of this. Anyways not a big deal as that one I rarely use for underwater footage. Definitely reocmmend this product, GoPro now looks so much cooler!
Works as it should
Self explanatory. Just realize it is “BLACKED OUT,” for a reason. To not let light of any kind out. A lot of people purchase for the look and not functionality. If you want to access the screen and are not familiar enough to record, pause, power on/off, etc., without looking at the screen, I would steer clear of this. I say this from experience.

It doesn’t draw attention and is a cool looking case! Only complaint is that the go pro (hero 4 silver) seems like it gets squished in there and the case needs to be pushed together to close.
DO NOT Recommend
I do not recommend this housing, at all. It is not as pictured, was physically dirty inside, scratched on the outside (see photos), came in a wimpy bubble wrap bag, and is not as sturdy as the original GoPro branded housing. There is a foam cushion on the inside of the back window that would block your ability to see the screen. Super lame. I would never trust my GoPro underwater with this. I returned it immediately, which was a smooth process and the only reason I am giving this product a single star.
Very sleek, less conspicuous than standard housing
This is mostly an aesthetic option for the housing but as I use my go pro quite often while traveling I find it must less conspicuous when filming in public. It fits the device exactly like the standard housing and comes with blackout stickers if you would like to cover the front digital screen as well. Personally, the black matte makes the go pro look way more legitimate.

Love it! Had it for little under a year and no problems. This summer I left it in my car ALL day by accident mounted on the windshield in direct sunlight.
