Problem Solver for GoPro battery charging

Perhaps you may use you GoPro Camera to charge your battery? I did so myself until one day my camera would no longer turn on or charge the battery. I did some research online to see if this was some kind of defect or to find a way to troubleshoot the problem. I found a video on YouTube that identified precisely what the cause was and how to fix it. It appears that when the battery voltage drops to 2.85V, the battery won’t charge using the camera. The solution was to attach bare wires directly from an charging adapter to bring to voltage back to 2.87V which would allow for charging with the GoPro camera. I suggest buying a charger such as this one, it solved all my battery and charging issues. Works just as expected!

based on that my review is not good. Be aware

I purchased this item for a friend. She resently told me that this battery swelled after a FEW days of used and was NOT longer operational. The same occured to her with others that she purchased. So, based on that my review is not good. Be aware. Sadly it’s too late for me to return it since I cannot all the paper work . But it might help somebody.

I tested the GoPro (1180 mAh) battery in a GoPro HERO3+ Black. Set to ¹⁰⁸⁰⁄₂₄. Wifi OFF. Let camera run continuously. On average the battery runs for 2 hours and 18 minutes**. Great runtime for a battery that comes with the GoPro HERO3+ Black model. I ordered a second one ($20) as a backup. **Battery runtime may be less with higher video setting or with more FPS in video mode.The Wasabi (1200 capacity model) runs for 2 hours only. Exact same filming conditions. GoPro original battery runs for 20 minutes longer than Wasabi 1200 battery. Even though the original GoPro is rated at 1180 vs the Wasabi 1200 higher rating, the GoPro original battery (1180) runs for 20 minutes longer.Keep in mind I was using the Wasabi 1200 capacity battery. There is a higher capacity 1280 Wasabi which I have ordered and will test soon. Not sure how much more runtime the 1280 Wasabi battery will have over the 1200 Wasabi battery. An extra 80 mAh will add how much more runtime? Just received and charging up. Will test soon.Test with higher capacity Wasabi.I ordered the new 1280 mAh batteries. I used same setting as before but a new memory card (not as fast as previous one). It could be my imagination but camera seems to feel a bit warmer. GoPro Battery Good to Go!

The GoPro Battery gets the job done! See your manual for recording times based on the format you are shooting, but these do fairly nice job, but have not compare them to other aftermarket batteries. They charge fairly quick, and again just a good idea to have extra one standing by on ready.

Great Battery!

Great battery’s, very useful if you are using your cameras for a long time. Each battery holds 2 hours to 2.5 hours. These are the actual gopro brand battery’s and are very trust worthy. These are great battery’s, i had my last battery for 3 years and it is still working. The only reason i bought more because i use my cameras the whole day and one battery doesn’t have enough juice to keep your gopro on and recording all day. Great battery’s and i really recommend this product if you constantly use a gopro.

These batteries are okay, not terrible. Recharge quickly enough. I would never get generic. But, if you have a long shoot, make sure to bring a bunch

Works great! It’s very helpful to have an extra battery, especially when you connect your Gopro to your phone wifi or remote wifi constantly. Battery life is typical depending on how much you use it. Like I said, if it’s always connected to wifi then a few hours (which seems to be normal) is what you will get. If you just use the Gopro and no wifi connection then at least half a day, which again appears to be typical amongst batteries.

It’s a battery

I like having a backup battery, especially when the Bluetooth is running constantly. I have not had any problems to report and glad that I bought the brand name.
