This beautiful solid brass telescope is mounted on a wooden tripod. The objective lens is 42mm. This telescope is a beautifully functioning nautical masterpiece, with a 42mm objective lens that produces up to 15x magnification. Focusing is accomplished by adjusting the eyepiece ring on the telescope tube. This solid brass nautical gem adds a shine to any room it enters. A removable brass cap, connected by a chain, protects the objective lens. The wooden tripod stand features smooth, polished and round legs, each with solid brass fittings and a screw release to let you adjust the height. A solid brass chain holds the three wooden legs together so the telescope can maintain its position.

Somewhat disappointed

The telescope arrived with numerous tarnish spots on the brass due to the fingerprints of people handling it during packaging for shipment. In other words, there was no protective coating (lacquer or shellac), which is normally applied to brass during manufacture to prevent it from oxidizing or tarnishing. In addition, the wooden legs looked rather cheaply made. So, in consideration that the price was much less than similar items on the internet, I guess I got what I paid for.
