This game is so simple and so fun! I play with my 8 yr old and 10 yr old daughters and… I win some but… believe it or not, I lose some! The great thing about it for me is that you don’t need to understand English to enjoy this game. I have many friends in Japan who visit me with their kids. I’m always thinking how my kids can have fun together with the kids who don’t speak any English. Well, this is it! Connect 4 is a perfect tool to interact with kids from other countries who don’t understand English!I remember when I was in elementary school, my friend had this game, and we played together. It’s such a classic game. But even today, it is still very exciting and fun for all ages and all nationalities!
This is the same classic game that I played when I was a kid, and now I can play it with my children! The goal is the same–to get four colors in a row. At first my children struggles with predicting where a player might go next, but after playing with it for a while, they’ve really started to get the knack for it. It has helped them to develop critical thinking skills. We got the game at Christmas, and it’s now eight months later and they still pull it out to play all the time. I think this one will be a keeper.
Can’t beat this timeless classic. This is a great way to teach kids counting and strategies. My 4 year old struggled at first with the concept but loves looking for new, sneaky ways to try to beat me. I bought this game for her as a birthday gift and she has had so much fun with it and learned so much that I ended up buying it for the other young children in my extended family too. It is fun and educational game that kids love!
Very good simple interpretation for the game. Can be used to play with little kids too, under parents supervision, because it fits for sensory: permanency and cause and effect plus motor gross skills, strategy and color logics. My 19m was so fascinated by the red yellow line filling- she kept still and occupied for almost 40 min with this game! When she will grew up a bit, will add the actual rules :)
We bought this for our son for Christmas as a small gift since everything else was for his Wii U or Xbox 360. We like board games, and I figured this would be a cheap, easy gift for fun that would not require too much brain power… something we could play while watching a movie or something. I was so surprised at how much you need to use strategy! I easily won the first few games I played with my son (he’s 10) but he caught on quick and now he consistently beat me (it’s so embarrassing!!). We play best of 5 and it usually ends with “Good game Mommy. Better luck next time.” Who knew! Simple set-up and easy clean up.
15 years ago I used to mentor disadvantaged kids at a local elementary school. This is a game the kids always loved to play. Now I have grandkids of my own and each year Santa brings new games for grandma’s house. When I stumbled across it on Amazon, I knew it would be perfect for the collection. My seven year old already loves it and it’s just as fun for me because you really don’t know who’s going to win! And he had just as much fun dumping the discs after the game was over. His mom and dad watched us play and they think they may need one for their house too. I do wish they provided a bag to keep the discs in, but I just found a Ziploc bag to keep them together.
I am building up my game closet. This game isn’t cheap feeling like a version I got from the store years ago. The plastic that makes the frames and the chips are high quality. I was missing a few chips, but I figured that was because I bought this as an open box.
This is a very fun toy for all in the family, even little kids enjoy playing with it. The plastics used is rather light weight but on the positive side they don’t have any funny smells. After all, these are still made in USA.Given the typical price this is sold, I fully understand why the materials are very light weight (not heavy duty). However, it is still a very good value and a toy I recommend for everyone who likes to have some non-computer, non-electric toys once in a while. It is excellent for taking on camping trips, too.
Till now, I don’t see any problem. So far it is working superbly.
Love this game!
Perfect!
Very cheaply made. It broke the first day. So sad as we were excited to play this game with our kids and the quality is so much poorer than what we had as kids.
Came on time and with all the pieces. Fun game we really enjoy it.
