Good alternative to a window fan

This sits very comfortably on the 3⅛” (8cm) window sill in our bathroom. It’s eliminated olfactory nightmares in our small apartment almost completely (the cat has yet to learn to operate it). The best $20 I’ve ever spent.

Surprisingly loud with a poorly located power cord.

I was looking for a pair of slim profile fans to sit on windowsills, and these seemed to be the slimmest. However, the power cord design adds and inch to the depth by virtue of sticking out the back in a fixed location (as opposed to on the side). For my purposes, this means the fans don’t fully fit on the windowsill and the windows catch the cord when sliding them open or closed behind the fans. But the mains reason for the 2-star rating is the noise these fans make: at both the low and high speeds, the produce a steady, vibrating hum that is surprisingly loud - much louder than the pair of similar Holmes fans I replaced. A minor complaint is that you have to switch through the high position to get to low speed - a common convention on fans, but annoying, nonetheless. I’ve made my peace with these drawbacks, given the difficulty of finding fans that will fit my situation, but if you’re looking for something more general-purpose, you can find a much quieter option.

You might get one that doesn’t have the clicking noise?

I reduced the rating because the fan makes a very loud and very annoying “clicking” noise. Hard to describe noises, but it changes with the speed of the fan. It is less irritating at high speed as the fan is much noisier at that speed which masks the clicking noise somewhat. It may be a bearing noise, if the motor even has a bearing, but it’s definitely coming from the motor. I kept the fan for use in the garage, where the noise doesn’t bother as much.

Does the job, was hoping for better

Nice size. Have had it maybe 3 months now. On almost every night. Yea it does have a rattle. It’s in my bathroom window so its not very noticeable. Also if i do turn it off for the day then flip it on at night, sometimes it starts up pretty slowlySometimes it will gradually get louder then all of a sudden quiet down again. Kinda spooky but just figured its a voltage regulator thing. Or unbalanced and rebalances itself. It’s been alright, but would look for a different one next time

Love this powerful little fan

I love this little fan. It’s very powerful. Fits perfectly in narrow front window to draw in cool air. The airflow reaches all the way across the room (12 x 12) and into the other room. It makes a little noise, but not bad. Very stable. Quite a good fan for one so small. LOVE IT! A little difficult to clean. Lots of long screws to take out but that probably makes it stable and less noisey.

Nice breeze, not strong

Wanted to use this in the window to blow out cigarette smoke. Fit in window nicely, but isn’t strong enough. Now using it in the bedroom to bring in more of a breeze. Works well for mild breeze. Quiet and consistent air flow. Good for white noise. Plastic doesn’t seem very sturdy, but good enough for the price. Not recommended if you need a very strong fan. Good packaging, arrived as expected via Prime

Awful fan, terrific white noise machine.

This fan is the worst product I’ve ever received from Amazon, precisely because it’s highly rated, and I trust the ratings of other Amazoners. To confirm, this does NOT have a 10” blade, but instead is 7”. However, the 7” it does have is completely useless. It moves LITERALLY almost no air You have to get the fan within 6 inches of your face to feel anything at all. Bafflingly, although it moves no air, it is VERY loud. I have moved it to my office to become a white noise machine since it won’t actually chill coworkers.

Meets our needs

We bought this for our little camping/utility trailer, which does not have AC. We bungee cord mount it to one of the small side windows - to both blow the hot air out or cool air in. We haven’t slept with it on, but I think I could handle the light noise it produces. It meets our small-space needs.

Not worth the purchase

This broke within 3 months of receiving it. It blows as much air as you can just breathing! Not worth buying and will not buy it again.

Junk!!!

I bought this fan in April, it’s now mid august and it no longer works. What a piece of junk!

Great for small restroom windows

I have a small restroom connected to my bedroom with only a toilet and a sink. Needed a fan to blow the smell out the window when nature calls and this fan was perfect for the…

Four Stars

Blows air really well for it’s size.

Works great

Powerful fan, I use it in my bathroom window.

My Fan

Just what I needed. No problems at all. Pleased with it.

Great fan for rooms where you don’t want a fan …

Great fan for rooms where you don’t want a fan sitting on the floor. Our bedroom is air conditioned but needs a little air flow to keep it really cool.

5050 crap shoot

Bought two of these about 2 months ago. was loving them both, but. Is one doesn’t work at all. Won’t even turn on any more.

Moves a nice volume of air and is a life saver here …

This thing runs 247 and is quiet. Moves a nice volume of air and is a life saver here in my B-Hut in Afghanistan.

Stopped working after 4 months.

Only lasted 4 months and motor stopped. Would not stay in place on floor. Junk.
